Chrissy Teigen is getting a ton of backlash from offended fans after she shared a photo of her latest tattoo on Instagram that gives off “strong Holocaust vibes”.
As you may already know, Chrissy Teigen can hardly ever catch a break on social media.
It doesn’t really matter what she does — she is constantly criticized.
And most recently, Chrissy is getting dragged for her “tone deaf” tattoo that is giving fans “strong Holocaust vibes”.
Something you probably never want anything permanent on your body to be called, right?
Now, this is not Chrissy’s first tattoo.
Nor is it her first controversy, amirite?
Hollywood tattoo artist Winter Stone has inked Chrissy and her hubby John Legend in the past.
Who can forget this iconic “Legends of Ink” video?
The pair got each other’s names and the names of their two children tattoo’d on their arms.
“hey guys please don’t talk to us unless u have tattoos we are a cool tattoo family now and we only want to talk to other tattoo families (srry if this seems harsh),” Chrissy joked.

Now to debut her latest tattoo, Chrissy posted three slides on Instagram of herself getting the tattoo, and of course, the unveiling of it.
The final slide shows off a close-up photo of three birthdays in a simple, black font: Her husband, John Legend’s birthday, and their two children, Luna and Miles.
Now, while Chrissy did get some positive feedback on her new tattoo, it was quite futile.
The majority of fans did not seem impressed with her new ink whatsoever.
At the time of the Holocaust, the Nazis at Auschwitz Concentration Camp systematically tattooed unique serial numbers on each prisoner’s forearm.
So, naturally, many of Chrissy’s fans that know this fact were deeply offended to see that her new tattoo was so reminiscent of such an enormous tragedy.
An overwhelming number of comments similar to this one came flooding in.
Some people simply cringed, letting Chrissy know that her tattoo is not tasteful.
Some chimed in with a much more cavalier attitude.
While this person doesn’t seem to approve of the tattoo on behalf of Jewish people, they also pointed out that it’s ultimately her choice what she gets inked on her body.
Others shared angrier comments telling Chrissy that her tattoo is glamorizing and diminishing the struggle of Holocaust victims.
Although, surely, that was not her intention…
This fan thinks that tattooing any numbers on your arm is not an okay thing to do.
Evidently, I don’t think Chrissy knew about this particular detail regarding Holocaust victims before getting the tattoo.
Some fans politely encouraged Chrissy to read-up on the history of Holocaust tattoos so that she can better understand why her tattoo has offended so many people.
While she definitely should educate herself on the Holocaust, I’d say she’s a day late and a dollar short — seeing as she already has the tattoo.
This person warned adoring fans not to use this tattoo as inspiration for their next one.
If we’ve learned anything from the backlash Chrissy has received over this, it’s to not get any numbers tattooed on our forearms.
Other fans think that this alleged display of ignorance is a sign that the Holocaust is not being properly remembered for the devastating period that it was.
Hopefully, Chrissy was able to use this hiccup as a learning experience and better educate herself on the topic.
If this many of Chrissy’s fans were disapproving then it’s probably justified.
While I think we can all agree that she didn’t mean any harm, there’s no denying that she may have unintentionally crossed a line.
One Chrissy fan took to the tattoo artist’s Instagram page to express their admiration for the ink.
“I’m part Jewish and my family lost a lot of family members during the Holocaust and I see nothing wrong with this tattoo,” they wrote.
Chrissy has yet to comment on the tattoo backlash.
