It seems like there’s always a new debate getting heated on Twitter, and you can never predict what people are going to get riled up over.
Today’s debate? Top sheets. Yup, top sheets. You know, those loose, unfitted sheets that go over the fitted sheet and under the duvet?
Apparently, Twitter can’t decide whether these sheets are necessary or not. It’s divided the internet into two distinct camps.
Is this the mark of innovation?
It seems that millennials and Gen Zers are the ones leading the charge against top sheets. They’re rebelling against the bedding institution.
I mean, I get where she’s coming from.

What is the point of a top sheet? No one has ever told me and now I’m really curious. Someone please explain!
It seems that I’m not the only one who is confused.
Yeah, mine ends up in a crumpled ball, too, but I’m sure it’s not supposed to do that.
Top sheets = civilization (apparently)
On the pro top sheet side, people have very strong feelings about top sheets with this Twitter user going as far as calling them, “the underwear of the bed”.
Hey, no need to call people names.
I get that people are really invested in this debate, but really? I wouldn’t go as far as calling non-top-sheeters (my term) animals.
I do this, too!
Especially in the summer, I use the top sheet as my main blanket. It feels weird sleeping with nothing, plus I need something to protect myself against the monsters under my bed.
Are you one of those people who *needs* a top sheet?
Everyone has their own quirks when it comes to getting to sleep. I need two pillows or else I toss and turn all night. I guess it’s the same for some people and top sheets.
Some people need more than just a top sheet.
I prefer being on the cooler side when I’m in bed but to each their own. Some people need layers of blankets I guess!
Is this the reason for a top sheet?!
Are top sheets there to absorb your sweat? Is that it? That would make a lot of sense. Who says Twitter isn’t educational.
Well, I feel like this is one debate that will never end.
Whether you’re pro or anti-top sheet, people have some very strong opinions about this topic. I think the main thing is to make your bed as comfy as possible whether you have a top sheet or not.
