Selena Gomez famously uses her music as an outlet for her emotions which is why fans know a lot about the singer-songwriter’s personal life. However, with her latest documentary, My Mind and Me, the actress put the pain and sadness behind her.
During a promo tour for the Apple TV+ docufilm, Gomez told Jimmy Fallon that her sad girl song days were behind her and her next album would go in a different direction.
Get Ready For Fun Music
Gomez told Fallon that the new album would contain upbeat and happy music so her fans should get their dancing shoes ready. The singer also opened up about the docufilm saying she started filming it seven years before its release so she was scared to put it out.
However, she got over the anxiety and released it to critical acclaim despite refusing to watch it herself.
‘My Mind & Me’ Is About Mental Health Care
The documentary contains bits of her Lupus journey from diagnosis to getting her kidney transplant, recovery, and a bit of her life afterward. Through her fears, Gomez hoped others would learn to tell their stories as she did.
Her conversation with Fallon veered towards mental health care which is the central theme of My Mind & Me. Gomez spoke about meeting President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden during the youth forum last Summer.
The actress said it was a mere conversation, although it’s a start but hopes it moves towards actions in the future. Her mental health advocacy and charity work make her feel useful to society.
Another BLACKPINK Collab?
Gomez’s latest interactions with some of her music colleagues have her fans guessing about the collaborations on her upcoming album. The K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK is top of that list after the singer shared a picture of herself via Instagram with its four members – Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rose.
The duo previously collaborated on Ice Cream during the pandemic, and fans want more in 2023. The fun pop song has 801 million views on YouTube, and you can watch it below.
Is Dua Lipa On The Album?

Gomez also snapped a picture with Dua Lipa leading fans to push for a collaboration between the two women. They met at the Variety Hitmakers award gala last week in honor of Lipa and Elton John for their song, Cold Heart (PNAU).
The duo also expressed interest in working together.
