Nicole Kidman has never been one to shy away from taking on bold and provocative roles. But her latest project, the upcoming e****c thriller Babygirl, pushed the 57-year-old actor to her limits.
In a candid interview, the Big Little Lies star revealed that filming got so intense she had to pause production, saying, “I don’t want to o****m any more.”
Kidman previously explored sexual themes in films like Eyes Wide Shut and A Family Affair.

She stars as Romy, a high-powered CEO trapped in a loveless marriage.
She then embarks on an affair with Samuel, her younger intern, played by Triangle of Sadness star Harris Dickinson.
The film delves into the complexities of power dynamics and passion in the workplace, something Kidman found both challenging and draining.
The intensity of the film’s steamy scenes even led Kidman to stop filming at times.
“There were times when we were shooting where I was like, ‘I don’t want to o****m any more’,” she confessed. The actor didn’t mince words about how overwhelmed she felt by the constant demands of portraying such intimate and emotionally charged moments.
“I hate doing this,” she added. “I don’t care if I am never touched again in my life!”
The film, directed by Halina Reijn, known for her work on Instinct, features multiple sexually charged scenes, which Kidman admitted led to moments of burnout.
“It was so present all the time for me that it was almost like a burnout,” she explained.
The unrelenting nature of the scenes pushed her to step back and recalibrate. Despite these challenges, Kidman praised the care taken on set to ensure everyone felt comfortable.
Kidman credited intimacy coordinators for helping her navigate the film’s intense scenes.
“I’m a huge believer still in the sacredness of the set or the actors’ space and it never being violated,” she shared, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe environment during such vulnerable moments. “It’s ours, it’s the bubble, and then there’s the world outside.”
Her co-star, Harris Dickinson, echoed these sentiments, giving a nod to intimacy coordinator Lizzy Talbot.
“She was important for the film and broke the unnecessary barrier and conversation around what you have to do,” he noted. Talbot’s guidance helped the cast approach the scenes with professionalism and trust.
Kidman also expressed her confidence in director Halina Reijn, who handled the subject matter with care and sensitivity.
“I knew Halina wasn’t going to exploit me,” Kidman said. “It’s the story I wanted to be part of, that I wanted to tell.” She added that the cast and crew were like a family, looking out for each other as they tackled the difficult subject matter.
With Babygirl set to hit cinemas on December 24, 2024, fans are eager to see how Kidman navigates this provocative role.
Despite the challenges, Kidman’s commitment to the story and the project shines through, promising a film that pushes boundaries while exploring important themes.
For those ready for something steamy and intense this holiday season, Babygirl is sure to deliver in ways few films dare.
Nicole Kidman, once again, is poised to make a bold statement in a role that will no doubt leave audiences talking.
