Keep reading for the details.
Natalie Lee On Racism

The Love Is Blind Season 2 star opened up in an Instagram ask-me-anything (AMA) last week that the ugly side of her participating in the reality show is the number of racist messages she’s been receiving on social media.
Rude Shock For Natalie

The Korean American star was shocked and taken aback by the vile comments she’s been forced to come face to face with every day in her inbox.
In With The Receipts!
She then showed screenshots of three offensive messages she had received. One read, “Only Asians girls when they MIXED. If not, eyes are too small and face is too pancakey.”
Another one said, “Of course, Netflix had to have a token chinky one for this season.”
And the last one wrote, “You should be very lucky he decided to stay with a chink instead.”
Only East Asian In Season 2
Lee was the only East Asian Woman in Love Is Blind season 2. She was in a biracial relationship with Shayne Jansen.
Huge Contrast
Lee revealed she checked the profiles of those who trolled her and they didn’t live up to the life they portrayed. Some of their bios read “mom of three,” “I love Jesus,” “be kind,” and “grandmother.”
Asians And Reality TV
Lee is the latest victim of racism against Asians on a reality show. Reality shows have also often been criticized for not including Asian people in their lineups enough and also end up maltreating them with unfair narratives when they do.
Tiffany Moon
Moon faced anti-Asian treatment from her co-stars on The Real Housewives of Dallas two years ago. The anesthesiologist, who is of Chinese descent, was compared to a Thai sex worker.
A review in the Dallas Observer confirmed that the season had racist undertones directed at Moon while it aired.
Jo Lee
Jo Lee gave a piece of her mind on Refinery29 .
Hopes For The Future
Lee hopes the tide will change moving forward and more East Asian representation on popular reality shows.
‘Love Island’

Jo Lee continued, ” Love Island has seen few women of south or southeast Asian origin; Kaz Crossley, Stephanie Lam and Malin Andersson identify in part as Thai, Malaysian and Sri Lankan respectively. However, east Asian women whose origins lie in countries like China, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea have yet to feature.”
‘Too Hot To Handle’
Too Hot To Handle was also included in Jo Lee’s article as shows that have witnessed a low presence of East Asian or Asian women.
The Wedding’s Off

While they may have hit it off on the show, the thing didn’t go that far in the real world. Natalie Lee called off her wedding to Shayne after he told her he hated her during an intense argument.
Shayne’s POV
However, Shayne claimed his outburst happened due to pent-up anger and frustrations in their relationship.
Shayne Demanded An Apology

Shayne also accused Lee of not apologizing for the role she played in their split.
It’s Not You…
Natalie, however, stated that she doesn’t blame Shayne for their break up and completely understands where his anger came from.
Ready For Something New
The reality star, however, revealed to E! that she’s open to a new relationship at The Hollywood Reporter and Gold House 2022 API Excellence Celebration on November 17, 2022.
In It To Win It
She’s not looking in the temporary direction.
The Weddings Are Legal

According to a scoop from Refinery 29, the weddings on the show are legally binding.
More Breakups
