We really never know when we’ll run into a celebrity or what kind of story we’ll come away with once we do.
Sure, those who live in New York City or Los Angeles may be a little more likely to bump into one but it’s also true that any time you feel like going somewhere, there’s a chance that somebody famous had the same idea.
And while that chance is pretty slim, the chances are even slimmer that someone famous will swoop in to our rescue right as soon as something goes wrong.
However, it seems that this is precisely what happened to one woman whose hike in Utah took an unfortunate turn.
While visiting the Arches National Park in Moab, Utah, Minnie John wanted to visit the famous Delicate Arch rock formation.

But as CNN reported , this trek would turn out to be more arduous than she expected, so she waited on a rock and told her husband and son to go on without her after she started feeling lightheaded.
But there was a reason besides the length of the journey that John was feeling so dizzy.

John has diabetes and her blood sugar was particularly low that day since she had forgotten to eat since breakfast. Add that to the dehydration she was experiencing and it’s perhaps not surprising that she soon fell unconscious.
Unfortunately, she would end up falling forward off the rock, thus breaking her nose.
As she wrote in a Facebook post , “All I remember is sitting there with my head in my hands secure on the rock. Next thing I hear someone with a familiar voice kept asking me questions.”
And it turned out that there was a reason that voice sounded so familiar to her because it came from Julie Bowen, who played Claire Dunphy on the hit series *Modern Family*.

Fortunately for John, the guide that Bowen brought with her had seen the hiker fall and Bowen happened to be traveling with her sister, Dr. Annie Luetkemeyer.
Although Luetkemeyer specializes in infectious diseases, she had no problem treating John’s wound and also provided some medicine, water, and pretzels to help address the cause of her fainting spell.
As John put it, “They were so down to earth, so genuine, so sweet: Not at all how you might expect a big actor or a big doctor to be – which they are. They were just so humble, so loving.”
John would end up receiving five stitches for her fractured nose at Moab Regional Hospital, but her family had feared she had split her head open when the sisters contacted them.

But while they raced back to the rock, John was able to get a picture with her rescuers and Bowen gave her a big hug.
As she said, “They could have just ignored me, passed on, but they didn’t. She could have gone on – she must have had a busy agenda that was disturbed because of me. They treated me, a stranger, with love and respect.””
