Miley Cyrus is dropping new music, and she’s giving fans plenty to talk about – beyond the beats. The 30-year-old singer is still front-page news for having hosted her New Year’s Eve Special on TV with godmother Dolly Parton, and she used the high-profile slot to announce her upcoming single, Flowers.
Announcing ‘Flowers’
Miley’s single will be released later this month, on January 13. “NEW YEAR, NEW MILEY, NEW SINGLE. FLOWERS JANUARY 13” flashed on the screen as Mley alerted fans to her release. There’s more, though.
Ex Liam’s Birthday!
The footage showed Miley parading around in a sunny field and stunning in a gold dress. The release, however, is fast becoming a talking point as the date is the same as ex-husband Liam Hemsworth’s birthday. “I can love me better” are in the lyrics – fans seem to think it might be Miley throwing shade.
A Short Marriage
Miley and actor Liam first met back in 2009 and on the set of The Last Song . In 2010, they went public with their relationship, then calling it quits in August of that year. In 2012, plenty of engagement rumors flew around, with June 2012 seeing them actually get engaged. Their December 2018 marriage was short-lived, lasting only eight months.
Opens Up On Split
Miley has opened up on her split. “Sometimes you miss people more than others, and sometimes, things get easier. Time kind of heals all, but that was at a time where I felt really strong. And then somedays I don’t,” she has stated per Grazia.

Elsewhere, Miley continues her ambassador status with Italian label Gucci.
“It’s with happiness and honor I announce I am the face of Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de Parfum,” she wrote in 2021.
Bumped Up
