Oh, Valentine’s Day.A day filled with love, candy, and red hearts. Love it or hate it, there’s a good chance your partner feels the opposite way that you do. For me, I can’t imagine the day going by without doing something special to commemorate it, while my partner could for sure give or take the holiday.
However, at least he always knows that when I say I want “nothing” I never actually mean that. Do you know who doesn’t know that? Mark Wahlberg.
Everyone loves Mark Wahlberg, and most of us have for quite some time.
I remember my friends and I would always daydream about what it would be like to marry our childhood crushes. And look, I’m not saying Mark would have been a bad choice, but just listen to how his Valentine’s Day went with his wife, Rhea Durham.
While chatting with Jimmy Kimmel, the actor shared how he found himself in that classic “I thought you didn’t want anything!” Valentine’s Day dilemma.
“I’ll send flowers from each child leading up to Valentine’s Day. All four kids and then a big bouquet from myself,” Mark explained.
“This year, she was like, ‘Let’s not do anything. Let’s not get anything for each other for Valentine’s Day.’”
Did every woman reading this just roll their eyes because they know what’s coming? Me too.
“So, I actually believed her for the first time,” he said.
“When I got into my bathroom in the morning, I had a card, three gifts and rose petals.”
“So, I tried to figure it out. I did have the flowers coming anyway and a card. We were supposed to go on a trip, so hopefully she’ll still go with me.”
“Then I made a reservation for dinner, and she was like, ‘No, let’s just go another time,’” and then of course, I got in trouble for saying OK to that too.”
“I got the 4:30 reservations. I can make it seem like I rented the whole place out because nobody’s there yet. But it didn’t work out.”
Could he be any more of a husband?!
