Fans of classic Western films are mourning the loss of actor L.Q. Jones. The 94-year-old Hollywood veteran, best known for his roles in films like Mask of Zoro and Charlie’s Angels passed away on Sunday, as reported by People magazine.
Justice Ellis McQueen was born in Beaumont, Texas, in 1927. The aspiring actor took on the stage name L.Q. Jones.
Jones’ first big break was in the 1955 film Battle Cry. This role would begin a 7-decade-long career with many notable performances.
It was announced by L.Q.’s grandson, Erté deGarces, that the “Mask of Zoro” actor had passed away at the age of 94.
In a statement to People , Erté explained that his grandfather died on Saturday of natural causes while being surrounded by family at his home in Hollywood Hills, California.
