Over the last few days, our feeds have been flooded with headlines about Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin, and everyone else that bamboozled their kids into good colleges.
But it gets worse. Lori Loughlin coughed up some major cash to cheat her daughter, Olivia Jade, into college, and apparently she doesn’t even care about school??
“Full House” star, Lori Loughlin, was indicted on March 12th, in a grand college bribery scheme.
But considering her daughter seems to care more about being a YouTube sensation than a scholar, we’re wondering if it was all worth the trouble …
Back in 2018, Lori’s daughter, Olivia Jade, admitted on her YouTube channel that she doesn’t “care about school.”
“I don’t know how much of school I’m gonna attend,” she said .
“I’m gonna go in and talk to my deans and everyone, and hope that I can try and balance it all,” she said, adding:
“I do want the experience of like game days, partying.”
“I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know,” she went on.
She received an overwhelming amount of backlash and negative comments .
Her fans deserved an explanation for her careless statement.
It was certainly a very privileged comment.
There are a giant number of people in the world that would give anything to go to college, Lori Loughlin risked going to jail to get her in, meanwhile, she’s saying she doesn’t care about it and would rather party.
Yikes.
Two days later, after being bombarded by disapproving responses, she decided to record an apology video.
She hardly spared any time before trying to redeem herself.
She started the video off by explaining that after she posted the initial video, she felt weird about it, and that the negative comments only confirmed her suspicions.
“I’m just really disappointed in myself,” she said.
“I said something super ignorant and stupid, basically.” She said, adding:
“And it totally came across that I’m ungrateful for college — I’m going to a really nice school.”
“I’m not here to make excuses, or whatever,” she continued:
“Obviously I could have done worse. But it’s just annoying and frustrating to look [back] on, I guess, because I’m not like that, and I didn’t mean it that way.”
“I’m not trying to defend myself or anything. I just genuinely want to say I’m sorry, anyone I offended.”
“I know that [going to school] is a privilege and a blessing, and I’m really grateful.” She said.
“It just kind of made it seem like I don’t care, I just want to brush it off.” She went on.
“I’m just gonna be successful at YouTube and not have to worry about school. I’m really disappointed in myself.”
She also took to Twitter to further explain herself.
“YouTube will always be my #1 passion. I promise I’d way rather be filming 24/7 than sitting in 6 hours of classes straight” she wrote .
“But an education is also super important to me so thank u for ur patience and letting me figure out time management,” she added.
It seems that her education means a whole lot more to her parents, who allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totalling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team, despite the fact that they did not participate in crew, thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”
Here’s the full video where she mentions how uninterested in college she is.
She sort of rambles on about various topics. But if you want to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth, voila !
Since the charges against her parents have surfaced, there has been no word from Olivia Jade on her YouTube channel or social media.
Complete radio silence. Can’t say I blame her.
