Fans of Julie Andrews understand that the iconic star of the stage and screen is practically perfect, in every way . She’s shared so much of herself with her adoring audience over the years, and we love her for it.
But when it comes to matters of the heart, Julie has been content to keep fans at arms-length Now, in an attempt to better understand the legendary star, let’s take a look at Julie Andrews’ pretty private love life . Spit spot, and off we go!
Everything I ever needed to know, I learned from Julie Andrews.

Julie taught us to never judge things based solely on appearance. She showed us how to find the fun in even the most mundane of tasks, and that there’s nothing quite like a good laugh.
Over the years, Julie has managed to redefine herself time and time again.

Whether you know her from Mary Poppins or as Queen Clarisse Renaldi in The Princess Diaries , one thing is for certain — Julie is practically perfect in every way.
Despite being a legendary star on the stage and screen, Julie’s done a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious job at keeping her love life private.

So in order to shed a bit of life on the romantic endeavors of one of Hollywood’s most cherished actresses, let’s take a moment to break down Julie’s love life.
Julie’s first love was British costume and set designer, Tony Walton.

Julie and Tony first met when they were both just 13 years old . At the time, Julie was performing in a Royal Variety stage production of “Humpty Dumpty.”
Julie and Tony took a quick liking to one another and began dating soon after.

On May 10th, 1959, Julie and Tony said their “I dos” in front of a close gathering of friends and family in Weybridge, Surrey.
Not long before Julie rose to superstardom with ‘Mary Poppins’, Julie and Tony welcomed their daughter, Emma, into the world.
Unfortunately, Julie and Tony’s relationship wasn’t made to last. A little less than eight years later, the couple filed for divorce.
A year later, Julie married her second husband — Blake Edwards.

Blake and Julie met at an intersection, driving in opposite directions from the same therapist’s office. Their meet-cute truly was like something out of an old Hollywood movie.
After Julie and Blake were wed in 1969, they raised their children together and adopted two daughters from Vietnam.

They lived all around the world, with homes in Los Angeles, London, and Gaad (Switzerland), until the time of Blake’s unfortunate passing in 2010.
“Blake was the most charismatic and interesting fellow you could possibly meet,” Julie said while promoting her 2019 memoir.

“He was hilariously funny and had such a dark sense of humor that just put me away, that I loved so much,” she explained.
Although laughter was plentiful, Julie was quick to point out that Blake had a dark side.

Julie talked about how Blake battled with depression , and how at times she had to save her husband from the monsters inside of his head.
As to whether or not she’s dating today, Julie prefers to keep that information tight-lipped.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, for as fans will no doubt recall from Julie’s tenure as Mary Poppins — she never explains anything.
