People have no choice but to stan Kate Middleton’s wardrobe.
She and Prince William have been touring Pakistan this week, and her outfits during the trip have been the talk of the internet.
Whether she’s sporting rich jewel tones, or mirroring the outfits Princess Diana wore on her own trip to Pakistan, people are loving this royal trip.
The royals landed in Pakistan on Monday.
The trip, which lasted until October 18th, is the first trip to Pakistan for both William and Kate.
This is the first time a member of the royal family has visited the country since Charles and Camilla visited in 2006.
Kate started slaying the game the moment they landed.
They arrived to a welcoming crowd in Islamabad.
Kate was handed flowers on their arrival, and stopped to talk to children the moment they disembarked. It was pretty wholesome.
Twitter found outfit details immediately.
She was wearing an ombré blue shalwar kameez, the traditional dress of Pakistan. It was designed by Catherine Walker, who notably designed over 1,000 outfits for Princess Diana.
She paired it with neutral-toned heels and earrings by Pakistani brand Zeen.
They also noticed a striking similarity.
Quick users noticed that, like she has in the past, Kate was mirroring an outfit previously worn by Diana.
This would neither turn out to be a coincidence, nor the only instance of it during the trip.
Some thought it resembled this green dress.
Of course, as it’ll turn out, Kate would choose to honor that green dress of Diana’s later in the trip.
However, the sentiment wasn’t lost on the people of Pakistan, and it immediately endeared her to some.
Others thought it resembled a different Diana outfit.
I’m team this theory, because the blues are far closer to each other.
Diana also wore Catherine Walker during her own visit to Pakistan in 1996. Coincidence? I think not.
Her second outfit was also in blue.
For their second day, she went for a darker blue with a more intricate pattern in the front.
William was also in blue. I love that someone coordinates their outfits to complement each other.
Kate pulled a lot of inspiration from Diana for this one.
Like the previous day, Kate’s choice of outfit strongly echoed Diana.
Both women chose to go with a blue palette with intricate embroidery, as well as dangling earrings and simple shoes.
People seriously loved it.
The Twitter hashtag is full of people raving about how amazing they both look.
Notably, many are pleased with how respectful Kate has been in wearing traditional garments that pay respect to Pakistan.
This look, however, was the most reminiscent of Diana.
Her third outfit was once again done by designers Catherine Walker and Maheen Khan.
She also wore a scarf by Satrangi & earrings once again by Zeen.
The green of the shoes matching the scarf? I stan.

While Diana opted for a lighter green dress that was styled more like an oversized blazer, the similarity between the two is pretty obvious.
Kate’s look is clearly a more updated version of Diana’s.
Their most recent outfits did some numbers.
Twitter went nuts for Kate and William’s looks as they arrived for the evening event.
Kate wore a custom Jenny Packham dress, and paired it with gold and crystal earrings by luxury South Asian brand, Onitaa.

William and Kate looked delighted as they climbed inside their custom-painted rickshaw for the occasion.
They released an entire video celebrating their trip to Pakistan, thanking everyone for joining them on their journey.
There was some mad love for William, too.
William was not about to be outdone. While his previous outfits kept it pretty low-key, this nighttime look was pure style.
He wore an emerald green Sherwani with intricate details. It was by Pakistani designer Naushemian.
People loved these looks a lot.
The green clearly resonated with Twitter. The tweet posted by their official account garnered over 30,000 likes.
So yeah, I guess you could say they nailed the whole couple’s fashion moment.
Day 3 saw more Diana references.
Sidenote: Smita was not feeling their evening wear, comparing them to the Canadian Prime Minister and his wife. Ouch.
However, Kate’s gifted cap went over much better. The Diana callback probably helped a lot.
They toured a mountain range.
Once again in a look similar to Diana, Kate and William also witnessed some of the effects of global warming up close while visiting the Hindu Kush mountain range.
People were dying to know what she’d wear next.
If Kate’s choices had been any indication, looking at Diana’s past looks could have been the key to guessing what she’d wear next.
Personally, this brown look is my favorite so far.
Kate looks comfortable while retaining elements of traditional Pakistani wear.
William’s neutral tones compliment her, but let’s be real: Kate’s always the real star when they’re together. I mean, look at that vest!
While her next outfit was less Diana inspired, their choice of location was incredibly familiar.
While Kate was clearly taking her fashion cues from Diana, she and William also took some tour cues from her.
They visited The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital, where Diana previously visited during her trip in 1996.
Her clothing made political statements, too.
The New York Times fashion writer Vanessa Friedman praised Kate’s wardrobe choices, calling her looks “fashion diplomacy.”

Her black overcoat still held the idea of a shalwar kameez, but it was more in line with her classic monochromatic style.
William and Kate visited the Army Canine Centre in Islamabad, where they walked some really adorable puppies that were training to be bomb-detecting dogs.
They had some fun on their final day.
In Lahore, they visited the SOS Village and interacted with many children there.
They even got in on some fun and games. Kate kept things traditional once more, but still went for a more classic contrast with white and black.
