Now, in a new interview with British Vogue , the model has opened up more than ever before.
She just admitted the real reason she quit working with Victoria’s Secret — and it’s not what you’d think.
Throughout her modeling career, Karlie Kloss has worked with some major brands.
This includes Vogue, Versace, Estée Lauder, and more.
But none were as memorable as her time working with Victoria’s Secret.
The 6’2 stunner made her debut with the lingerie brand in 2011.
She didn’t become an official “Angel” until 2013.
Working for the brand had its perks, such as making her a household name.
Victoria’s Secret really put her on the map.
She even reached “Jennifer Aniston” status when her short ‘do was even dubbed “The Karlie” by the brand.
And she got to walk the runway with her bestie, Taylor Swift!
Taylor graced the VS stage in a winter wonderland sort of feel.
Nothing can top this bestie moment for the two!
In 2015, Karlie made the headline-worthy decision to hang up her wings.
At the time, she said it was due to scheduling conflicts since Kloss was headed to school.

She went on to study feminist theory at New York University’s Gallatin School.
At the time, Victoria Secret’s chief marketing officer, Ed Razek, was sad to see her go.
On Instagram, he called her “one of a kind, a very close friend, someone I truly admire and love.”
This adoration for her might be why she still walked the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
In addition to her studies, Kloss also discovered a love of tech that led her to create the Kode with Klossy initiative.
Kode With Klossy is a charitable organization that provides free coding camps for girls.
They also offer awards and scholarships to these young women.
Her goal was to make a difference in young women’s lives.
There’s always been more than beats the eye with this supermodel.
Now in 2019, Kloss has stepped onto a new runway: “Project Runway”, that is.
The model is the newest host of the popular fashion TV show.
With all these positive changes happening in her life, Karlie has felt free to embrace who she is.
This includes admitting the real reason why she left Victoria’s Secret.
When speaking to “British Vogue”, she revealed that she left Victoria’s Secret because they no longer aligned with her “feminist” values.
“The reason I decided to stop working with Victoria’s Secret was I didn’t feel it was an image that was truly reflective of who I am,” she began .
“And the kind of message I want to send to young women around the world about what it means to be beautiful.”
“I think that was a pivotal moment in me stepping into my power as a feminist.”
“Being able to make my own choices and my own narrative, whether through the companies I choose to work with, or through the image I put out to the world.”
You go, girl!
Her marriage into a conservative family may have also contributed to her decision.
In 2018, she wed Joshua Kushner.
This meant becoming a part of America’s First Family, since Kushner’s brother Jared is married to Ivanka Trump.
He also serves as a senior presidential advisor.
But with the new Karlie that’s emerged, we have a feeling that this decision is 100 percent hers.
When speaking with British Vogue , she also mentioned that she had grown fearful in her early 20s of speaking up.
She thought doing so would cost her jobs.
“But I did not lose out on jobs. If anything, the more I exercised the power of my voice, the more I earned respect from my peers.”
“And I earned more respect for myself,” she continued.
“Only now do I have the confidence to stand tall – all 6ft 2in of me – and know the power of my voice.”
