Julia Fox has opened up about the reason that prompted her to undergo multiple plastic surgery procedures, admitting that she regrets succumbing to it.
She’s regretting some of her procedures
In an interview published on Tuesday, August 19, the actress and model told Allure that she regrets going under the knife for cosmetic procedures just so she could appeal to men.
Fox wanted to be honest about it
“It’s super important when you become famous or a public figure to be transparent,” the 35-year-old told the publication.
She spoke about how she regrets having done plastic surgery to appeal to the male gaze, saying she wishes she could go back.
Fox was hung up on the procedures
Fox explained, “Now, when I see someone and I can tell they’ve never done anything … I wish I could go back and be that person.”
“I was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive.”
She’s done multiple procedures
The Uncut Gems star has shared in the past that she’s had Botox injections, liposuction, a rhinoplasty, and veneers.
But at the moment, she’s not interested in getting any more work done.
Fox isn’t thinking about enhancing herself any more
Speaking to the publication, Fox said she hasn’t gotten any more plastic surgery done recently, and that she doesn’t have any plans to.
“I probably will [get more work done one day], but I’m just not as concerned with it right now,” she said.
She’s looking to age naturally
The model added that there’s ‘something to be said’ about aging naturally, which she’d like to do but is still fearful of.
“That’s what I think I’m the most scared of, feeling old, and there are times where I feel old … tired, over it, disillusioned,” she explained. “When you’re young and hot, it’s like that’s your identity. Then you’re like, s***, I need to stay young and hot.”
Fox is still worried about her approach to aging
Fox explained that her fear of losing her identity is why she still contemplates how she’ll approach aging.
“Am I going to chase the way I used to look, or am I going to evolve and see what’s on the other side?” she questioned.
It’s difficult but she’s ‘ready for it’
Despite the worry, Fox is still interested to find out who she’ll become as she ages.
“It could be something totally different, and I’m choosing to go that way. I just want to see who’s there waiting for me. It’ll definitely be uncomfortable, but I think I’m ready for it,” she said.
