Johnny Depp didn’t sit around this Memorial Day weekend . Instead of waiting in Virginia for the jury deliberation to continue Tuesday, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor took a trip across the pond to surprise Sheffield concertgoers on Sunday night.
As fans of the actor may know, Johnny released a cover of John Lennon’s 1970s hit “Isolation” with artist Jeff Beck back in 2020. On Sunday night, the pair were able to perform the song live, much to the crowd’s surprise.

As everyone and their brother knows, Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard are still waiting for the jury’s decision on their highly anticipated defamation trial.
Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with the Aquaman star’s 2018 Washington Post essay. In retaliation, Amber is counter-suing the Sleepy Hollow star for $100 million.
On Friday, both Johnny and Amber’s legal teams gave their closing arguments.
The jury began deliberations Friday afternoon and will continue Tuesday morning following the Memorial Day long weekend.
While most people would keep a low profile during these tense times, Johnny is determined to prove he’s not letting anything slow him down.
During Jeff Beck’s concert in Sheffield, England, the 58-year-old surprised concertgoers and proceeded to rock out.
In addition to performing their cover of “Isolation,” the duo also treated the crowd to covers of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing.”
As seen by the many videos posted online, the crowd was overjoyed to see the movie star.
As fans may know, in addition to being an actor, Johnny spends his free time being a guitarist and vocalist as part of the band Hollywood Vampires, alongside Alice Cooper and Joe Perry.
Earlier in the defamation trial, Johnny had spoken about his love of music
As reported by People, the actor brought up his passion for guitar playing as the reason why he’d never purposely severe his own finger, in relation to the alleged altercation he and Amber had in Australia in 2015.
As viewers of the trial may recall, Johnny testified that Amber threw a liquor bottle at him which cut off the tip of his finger, which she denied.
“Why would I ruin the only thing that was really good in my life aside from my children?” the father said his injured finger in relation to impacting his ability to play music.
“When this finger went, the tip of this finger went, the only thing I could think in my mind was thank God it wasn’t the left hand, which is the fret hand…”
“If I would have lost a finger from [my left hand] I would’ve had to learn how to play the guitar all over again,” he testified.
The jury deliberation in Fairfax, Virginia is set to resume Tuesday morning.
The trial saw both Johnny and Amber accusing each other of abuse.
