J.K Rowling is known for being the creator of Harry Potter and for giving us that, we are forever in her debt.
And while I think we can all agree that Harry Potter is just about the greatest thing ever, J.K seems to be dropping the ball these days.

Currently, J.K is facing a ton of backlash for some comments she made during an interview she gave for the release of “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”.
She shared some surprising information about two of the characters.
During the interview, she revealed that there is a romantic relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
“Their relationship was incredibly intense. It was passionate, and it was a love relationship,” she said .
“But as happens in any relationship, gay or straight or whatever label we want to put on it, one never knows really what the other person is feeling. You can’t know, you can believe you know,” she said.
“But as happens in any relationship, gay or straight or whatever label we want to put on it” she went on, adding:

“So I’m less interested in the sexual side – though I believe there is a sexual dimension to this relationship – than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for each other,” she went on.

Although J.K may have not had poor intentions exactly, fans dragged her for misrepresenting queer relationships.
They’re also frustrated that she didn’t actually represent queer characters whatsoever in any of the books or movies, only as a footnote, so to speak.
Another person gave a lengthy explanation of how J.K has had a habit of glossing over queer characters in the past.
But that her attempt to fix that problem was by reducing a queer relationship to just being about sex — ignoring more important aspects.
They continued to explain how J.K completely missed the mark
Understandably, this person just wants the queer community to be recognized by the media for more than just the sexual bits that get highlighted in books, TV shows, and movies.
Others pointed out that there is no sign of the characters actually being gay in the books or the movies.
So basically, the only place the characters are queer, are in J.K’s mind.
She can say Dumbledore was secretly Cinderella’s fairy godmother if she wanted to. But if it isn’t proven in the books or the movies, then what good is that information?
This person pointed out that there was zero LGBT representation in her books, so simply saying that Dumbledore is gay, years after the fact, isn’t going to cut it.
Her attempt to be inclusive long after the books and movies have already been created isn’t sitting so well with people.
This person joked that J.K pops up every two months, adding new details that literally no one was asking about.
She may as well just re-write the entire series at this rate.
This person tweeted that J.K’s desultory attempts at being LGBT inclusive doesn’t count, and doesn’t earn her any brownie points.
If it’s not on paper, then it’s really not making any difference.
Everyone seems to be tired of hearing additional, made-up facts about Harry Potter characters.
Nowhere in any of the books or movies is there proof of any of this being true.

Some people are actually choosing to defend J.K, and remind everyone how amazing the Harry Potter series was.
This person also explains that she could be saying worse things about her body of work, instead of trying to be LGBT inclusive.
But this person then fired back, saying they will not leave her alone until she stops trying to use her franchise as a way to make herself look like she is LGBT inclusive, without actually having to show it in her work.
They accused J.K of using the LGBT community as a way to attract attention to herself.

J.K Rowling and the entire Harry Potter franchise is currently under fire by the LGBT community, and I can’t say I blame them.
