Another day, another Duggar daughter being called out for her parenting!
Now, let’s be clear — there are a lot of things the Duggars do that I don’t personally agree with, but we can’t deny that sometimes it feels like people are being a touch dramatic on their Instagram pages.
However, it’s worth a discussion and hello, I LOVE to chat, so let’s take a look at the latest Duggar controversy, shall we?
Jessa Duggar is one of the eldest daughters of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.
Jessa tied the knot with hubby Ben Seewald back in 2014 and the couple share three children together: four-year-old son, Spurgeon; three-year-old son, Henry; and one-year-old daughter, Ivy Jane.
The 27-year-old keeps her 2 million Instagram followers updated on her daily life as a mom and wife.
Her candid and honest posts are a huge hit with parents everywhere!
Over Christmas, she shared with fans a look into what goes down during a Duggar Christmas.
Hint: it’s a lot of presents, a lot of food, and a lot of organized chaos.
Her candid posts can occasionally land her in some hot water with fans.
And now, Jessa is facing some backlash after posting a video of her kids playing with toy guns.
It all started when Jessa posted a video of her kids hanging out in a couch fort.
As all kids do, of course!

It was about halfway through the video when fans grew concerned.
Her youngest son, Henry, is seen pointing a toy gun at his older brother, Spurgeon, and his younger sister, Ivy.
The post’s comments became flooded with questions about the toy gun.
“Why the toy gun tho,” asked @heyashrose.
“You let your sons play with toy guns???” asked another.
User @helenb.05 left the comment, “Teaching your kids young that guns are toys is exactly how 91 Americans die from fire arms every day. Gun violence is the second leading cause of death in children, aged 10-19 in the US. Kids in the United States are 65 TIMES more likely to get shot [than] kids in Great Britain. If we want change we need to start early, but they are raising the next generation of gun owners. There are 33,000 gun deaths each year, yet 91% of all Americans want background checks. This is what we need to be worried about. And thank you for starting the conversation! All of these statistics are from the Epic documentary, Under the Gun. I’d highly recommend watching it!”
Of course, not everyone was quick to attack Jessa: “So cute!!…waiting for all the toy gun comments. Lol. It’s a TOY!” commented one fan.
“Why do people follow other people just to scrutinize every move? Drives me crazy,” agreed another.
