An old interview with Jennifer Lopez has resurfaced, and it is brutal . She spills tea left and right, taking on celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna.

The year was 1998, and the internet wasn’t much of a thing yet.
At least, social media wasn’t. The most we had back then were forums or Geocities sites. Yes, I’m old.
Anyway, this article was posted way back in yesteryear, hence why it’s only going viral now.
Editor Jason Chen dug it up from the depths of the internet.
Who knows how or why he found it, but the material it provides is priceless.
Titled, “Jennifer Lopez: The Wow,” the article came out February 1st, 1998. JLo was fresh off of Selena from the previous year, and rising to stardom quickly.
The article itself is…gross.
You ever just know an article was written by a dude, just by the way it’s written?
Yeah, this is one of those articles. The first sentence literally starts by describing Jennifer Lopez as “beautiful and bodacious.”
So you see what I mean, right?
So, let’s get into it.
“In the flesh, this girl packs a startling, sloe-eyed, tawny, womanly allure reminiscent of vintage-era movie voluptuaries.”
Wait, sorry, that was another gross description by the unnamed writer. Now we’re gonna start.
On Salma Hayek:
“We’re in two different realms. She’s a sexy bombshell and those are the kinds of roles she does. I do all kinds of different things,” Jen says.
So, that’s not too bad, right?
Here’s the kicker:
“It makes me laugh when she says she got offered Selena, which was an outright lie. If that’s what she does to get herself publicity, then that’s her thing.”
Oh…my god.
On Cameron Diaz:
“A lucky model who’s been given a lot of opportunities I just wish she would have done more with. She’s beautiful and has a great presence, though, and in My Best Friend’s Wedding , I thought, ‘When directed, she can be good.'”
Okay, slap some respect on a Charlie’s Angel, please.
On Gwyneth Paltrow:
“Tell me what she’s been in? I swear to God, I don’t remember anything she was in. Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work.”
Gwyneth won the Oscar for best actress a year later.
On Claire Danes:
“A good actress. Her emotional and inner life are available to her, which is a good start. But I feel like I see a lot of the same thing with every character she does. She’s not that way in U-Turn , though.”
Lopez and Danes were co-stars in U-Turn .
On Winona Ryder:
“I was never a big fan of hers. In Hollywood she’s revered, she gets nominated for Oscars, but I’ve never heard anyone in the public or among my friends say, ‘Oh, I love her.’ “
More Winona:
“She’s cute and talented, though, and I’d like her just for looking like my older sister, Leslie.”
OMG. Past JLo was the master of backhanded compliments, huh? I know in my heart that current JLo would never say things like this, for the record.
On Madonna:
“Do I think she’s a great performer? Yeah. Do I think she’s a great actress? No.
Acting is what I do, so I’m harder on people when they say, ‘Oh, I can do that–I can act.’ I’m like, ‘Hey, don’t spit on my craft.”
On her rejecting Wesley Snipes’ advances:
“He got really upset about it. His ego was totally bruised. He wouldn’t talk to me for two months. I was like, ‘What an [expletive].’ Actors are used to getting their way and to treating women like objects. They’re so used to hearing the word ‘Yes.”
I actually love this tea. And she’s totally right.
On Jack Nicholson:
“A legend in his own time and in his own mind–like the rest of us are peons.”
Actually, this sounds exactly how I imagine Jack Nicholson thinks of himself. Doesn’t that just feel right?
On beating out Sandra Bullock for a role:
“She wouldn’t test, and her agent, who is also my agent, supported that.
If I was Sandy, I’d say, ‘Well, I’m gonna show them that I can do it. I’ll read with them, make them offer me the part, then make them pay out the [expletive].'”
20 years ago, Jennifer Lopez knew what she wanted to say and she said it. I think I’m going to start living my life like 1998 J-Lo.
