Last weekend’s Grammy Awards went viral for a number of unforgettable moments. But there was nothing quite like the shots of Ben Affleck that reignited the “sad Ben” memes.
Arriving at the ceremony with his wife, actress, and pop star Jennifer Lopez , Affleck looked less than enthusiastic to be there. And everyone noticed.
Of Course, J-Lo Herself Took Notice Of The Meme

Lopez was with her husband for the majority of the night. After the fact, she told ET that they were both aware of the meme.
And She Even Joked About It On Her Own Social Media.

On Thursday, J-Lo posted a video to her Instagram that showed off the latest trailer for Air , the Nike biopic directed by Affleck himself. A quick image appears before the video begins, and it shows a picture of Affleck with a caption that reads, “My husband’s happy face.”
Of Course, This Didn’t Go Unnoticed By Fans.

Fans commented on Lopez’s post, pointing out how she hilariously owned the meme of her husband.
And Of Course, Fans Were Excited About The Film
Starring Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Christ Tucker, and a bunch of other stars, Air is set to release in theaters on April 4th.
Affleck And Lopez Were At The Center Of A Viral Moment During The Grammys
While seated next to host Trevor Noah, who was in the middle of doing a gag, all eyes were on Affleck as he whispered something into Lopez’s ear. J-Lo can then be seen saying something back, which has caused for a lot of debate.
A Lip Reader Even Offered Insight As To What She Could Have Said.

A forensics lip reader named Jeremy Freeman offered a suggestion as to what could’ve been said.
“I believe when Ben Affleck whispered into… Jennifer Lopez’s ear, she replied with, ‘Stop. Look more friendly. Look motivated,'” he said . “[Then] she turned away and Ben Affleck shuttered uncomfortably… and [said], ‘I might.”
There Were A Number Of Other Viral Moments Featuring Affleck.
People all over social media took note of the sad, tired, and unenthusiastic facial expressions Affleck had for seemingly the entire night.
These Faces Had Fans Laughing.
But some found his tired expression to be pretty relatable, too.
The “Sad Affleck” Meme Has Been Resurrected

Fans have been joking about Affleck’s facial expressions for years. A video of the actor appearing alongside Henry Cavill during an interview went viral back in 2016.
Affleck Was Even Aware Of The Memes During The Grammys.

A seat filler named Anna talked about how Lopez showed Affleck some of the memes during the show.
“J.Lo showed Ben Affleck the phone and was like, ‘Oh my god, honey, look at this meme circulating about you,’ and he was like, ‘Oh god, this again,'” she says in a TikTok video . “Like, he knew during the performance that he was a meme.”
Upon Learning About The Meme, Affleck Did Little To Change His Face

“Like he knew, and he also chose just not to change his expression,” Anna continued. “I love how unbothered that is.”
A Spokesperson Stated That Affleck ‘Wasn’t His Usual Self’ That Night
The source stated , “Jen and Ben had a fun date night out at the Grammys, but they have both been very busy working on several projects, and Ben was feeling tired. He wanted to go and support Jen, but he wasn’t his usual self.”
The Source Went On To Say That Lopez Was Not Upset By Affleck’s Lack Of Enthusiasm
“Jen knows Ben is a great husband and they still made sure to have a good night together,” the statement continued.
Going To Awards Shows Isn’t Affleck’s ‘Thing,’ Sources Say
They concluded by saying that Lopez “knows how supportive Ben is towards her and her work, but also gets that Ben is more of a homebody, and it isn’t his thing to be out at events all the time.”
