Closer Than Ever
In a recent interview with E! News , Jenelle cheerfully shared that she and her 13-year-old son are now closer than ever.
Family Is Complete
“I feel like being with his family makes him much happier. Our family wasn’t complete without him,” she said.
Peace With Mom
Not only is her relationship with her son a lot better, she has also found peace with her mom, who she has been feuding with for over a decade.
Still Controlling
While Jenelle may have reconciled differences with her mom, she admits that Barbara can still be “a little controlling.” “My relationship with my mother has got a little better, but truthfully she is still a little controlling,” she said. “I think it’s going to take time for her to get use to this change.”
A Happy Ending
Jenelle took to Instagram to share the good news with her followers and made sure to say a heartfelt thank you to her mom.
“#MyHappyEnding , ITS OFFICIAL! Thanks everyone for the support! Words cant describe how happy i truly am. Our family is complete now! Thank you mom. ❤️ ” she captioned her post
People’s Reactions
Her followers couldn’t help but feel emotional about the special moment. Many sent their support and praises in the comments.
“A good mom doesn’t always get it right, she just never gives up ❤️,” one person wrote.
Praise For Both Moms
Several fans also gave credit to Barb, praising the grandmother for her major contribution to Jace’s life.
“I see 2 strong mommas here. Barb did what she had to do even if it meant you hating her because it was the right thing for Jace,” a fan pointed out.
Grandmother’s Love
For more than 10 years, Barbara had custody of Jace. It wasn’t until two years ago that Jenelle took steps to regain custody of her eldest child. She also has two other kids – Kaiser, 8, and Ensley, 6.
Reality Drama
The tumultuous relationship between the mom and daughter played out on the reality show for years. Viewers got to see the intense drama and fighting, including the time when Jenelle signed over legal custody of her son to her mom.
Party Past
Still in her party era during that time, Jenelle had difficulty taking care of her son. She eventually moved out of her mom’s house in the early 2010s.
Caught Smoking
Aside from her partying, Jenelle also experimented with drugs early on. In a memorable scene from the show, Barbara was recorded scolding Jenelle and her then-boyfriend, Kieffer Delp. The two were caught smoking marijuana outside Barb’s home, while Jace was also present.
Experimenting With Drugs
It didn’t take long for Jenelle to experiment with heavier drugs. The mom of three admitted that she had a drug issue back then.
Low Point
“I think my low point was with my drug issue and the whole heroin thing. I almost overdosed and died. I was trying to run away from my problems,” she said in an interview .
Getting Sober
While Jenelle got sober, her problems didn’t stop. Relationship issues with ex-Nathan Griffin caused more issues with her mom.
Arrests
Jenelle’s bad behavior in the past led her to dark paths. She has been arrested 15 times!
New Life
A couple of years ago, the Teen Mom alum moved to the country to start a new life. She also made up with her husband, David Eason, after a brief separation and some social media bickering.
Ups And Downs
In an interview , Jenelle called her husband “the best father” and said that they are in a better place now. “I’m just glad we got over it. I think before I wasn’t sure, but now I’m really secure with my marriage.”
Jace’s Relationship With David
Janelle also reported to E! that Jace and David have been getting along well. “David teaches him how to hunt, fish, fix dirt bikes or giving Jace dating advice. Jace needed a father figure and I can tell how happy Jace is having one around.”
No More Fighting
Jenelle is happy to close her dark chapter and advises others who may be in the same position to mediate first before going to court. “Court trials are very scary and I don’t suggest it. Definitely try co-parenting and mediation before fighting in court.”
