Amazon giant Jeff Bezos’ neighbors in Miami all have the same complaint about him.
He has several properties
Jeff Bezos owns multiple properties across the US, with it being estimated that he has a shocking 420,000 acres to his name.
The Amazon founder owns eight houses in Seattle, where he used to live before moving to Miami where he owns three others.
He explained that he would be moving
In an Instagram post last year, Bezos announced he would be moving to Miami, writing, “I’m planning to return to Miami, leaving the Pacific Northwest.”
“I’ve lived in Seattle longer than I’ve lived anywhere else and have so many amazing memories here. As exciting as the move is, it’s an emotional decision for me. Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart.”
Bezos explained the reason
Sharing the reason behind the move, the 60-year-old billionaire said he wanted to be closer to his parents as well as the operations of his aerospace company Blue Origin in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
He shared the details
Bezos explained, “They recently moved back to Miami, the place we lived when I was younger (Miami Palmetto High class of ’82 — GO Panthers!) I want to be close to my parents, and Lauren and I love Miami. Also, Blue Origin’s operations are increasingly shifting to Cape Canaveral.”
He bought a property in Hunts Point
According to Business Insider, Bezos bought a waterfront estate for $37.5 million in 2019 before moving.
The property is in Hunts Point, a wealthy neighborhood said to only have a population of about 400 people living in a community just outside of Seattle.
It’s a close-knit community
The people of Hunts Point are said to be quite close to one another, often hosting events that involve many members of the community.
But apparently, Bezos never makes it to events like Cleanup Day where the residents come together to collect trash and plant trees.
Residents don’t like this about him
It seems residents of Hunts Point aren’t big fans of how he doesn’t show up. One told Insider, “I’ve seen a billionaire pick up trash on Cleanup Day. Not Jeff Bezos.”
His neighbors seem to share the same complaint, which is that ‘Jeff Bezos acts like he owns Hunts Point’, according to one resident.
The no-shows aren’t helping his reputation there
Another resident told Insider, “He’s not much of a neighbor. He’s too busy with all this national stuff.”
But it’s not all bad for Bezos in Hunts Point. One resident confirmed to the outlet that the Amazon founder had donated to charity after a fundraising event within the community.
