There are many things that define Jason Momoa — his acting career, where he’s from, his adorable family, his stunning looks — but I’m here to talk about the one that he just randomly decided to part ways with, and it’s breaking women’s hearts all over the world: His beard .
Many of us have never even seen him without one. It’s become his signature look, and it’s something we’ve all deeply grown attached to.
Ladies dig the lumberjack look, what can I say? There’s just something about a man with a good beard.
So, yeah, we’re all going through the five stages of grief right now.
I’m still at stage one: Denial.
I refuse to accept this new Jason Momoa look he’s forcing on us.
After seven long years of growing, grooming, and letting us get attached to his beard, we can’t help but wonder, why the sudden change?
What foolish mortal would give up something so glorious?
The good news is, Jason wasn’t hiding a weak chin or jawline under his beard.
He’s still just as swoon-worthy as he has always been — just less outdoorsy-looking.
Jason documented the grand reveal of his naked face in a YouTube video.
He chose to shave off his beard in a desert setting and it really just adds to the whole watching experience.
But why shave it off in the first place? And why do it in a desert? None of this is making any sense.
Don’t worry, there is a reasonable explanation for all of this absolute madness.
Jason decided to shave his beard for a very noble cause.
He did it to “make a positive change for the health of our planet,” he said.

He shared a clip of himself on Instagram saying sayonara to his beard and explaining that it was “time to make a change”.
Then he proceeded to promote a brand new concept of drinking pre-packaged water — from a can that is 100% recyclable, instead of a plastic bottle.
Planet earth FTW!
“Most importantly, I just wanna do this to bring awareness,” he said.
“Plastics are killing our planet.”
And his plan worked. By shaving his beard — triggering chaos amongst his fans, he probably raised a lot more awareness than he would have by simply posting a video telling everyone to buy canned water.
Like I mentioned, fans were in extreme turmoil over the loss of Jason’s beard.
People really didn’t know what to make of this. Fans were tweeting that now that Jason’s beard is no more, nothing else in the world makes sense.
Fans were describing themselves as being absolutely gutted over this.
This person tweeted that they were “distraught” Jason Momoa is now sans-beard .
I felt this tweet in my very soul.

Another fan tweeted that they woke up to some very tragic news and that they are not okay.
I’m not sure if any of us are okay right now. We’re still processing — just trying to make sense of it all.
Among the many fans that were having a meltdown over Jason’s new bare face, many were actually all for it.
This person tweeted that Jason instantly became 20 years younger after shaving his beard, and is probably going to outlive all of us.
Another fan wrote that everyone needs to “stop playin” because Jason is looking fine as wine even without a beard.
Finally, something we can all agree on!
The good news is, Jason has gotten through to fans. So, his beard did not die in vain.
