Jane Fonda , 84, has been through severe health challenges between last year and this one, but the actress isn’t afraid to die. While we, her fans, aren’t quite ready to see her leave this world, the Academy Award-Winning actress has made peace with the fact that her health isn’t what it was.
She recently underwent surgery for her shoulder and is still taking treatments for non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma – cancer of the lymphatic system. Fonda opened up about managing her health condition and getting ready for death.
Turning 85 And Accepting The Possibility Of An Early Death
Fonda sat down with a reporter from Entertainment Tonight and shared her thoughts on life, health, and turning 85 in December. When asked how she’ll celebrate the day, Fonda said her children and grandchildren would visit her from Vermont, and they’ll have a quiet night.
Now that she’s older, the Award-winning actress reckons she’s aware of the little time she has left, especially with her trailing health issues. On getting ready for death, Fonda clarified that it’s not about wanting to go but accepting the truth.
One More Movie
The conversation veered to her latest movie, 80 for Brady, with fellow Hollywood icons Rita Moreno, Sally Fields, and Lily Tomlin. The quartet reignited the story of the American Super Bowl LI in 2017, where the New England Patriots had a historic comeback against the Atlanta Falcons.
It was the first and only game decided in Overtime Rules (OT) and would now serve as the backdrop to a romantic comedy.
’80 For Brady’ Is A Romantic Comedy
The movie follows the four women on an adventure to the Super Bowl LI game to cheer their favorite player, Tom Brady (he became the MVP that night). Kyle Marvin directed the movie, and it’s set for a February 2023 release through Paramount Pictures shortly before Valentine’s Day.
Based on the trailer, 80 for Brady also stars other celebrities, including Guy Fieri, the Food Network host.
Mutual Respect From Everyone Involved
While talking about the movie, Fonda commended Brady as being surprisingly sweet, generous, and humble even though she didn’t act with him. She also added that he’s a good actor while praising Rob Gronkowski, who shared a scene with her.
The star NFL player said he was honored to work with four professionals and shared kind words for them as much as the ladies did him.
