The adolescent was groped and pinned against a counter in the convenience shop where Ahmed Khalio, 22, worked. Later, he claimed he had been “messing around,” but Khalio is married and has an 11-month-old son.
She Was On Her Back From School When It Happened
On the day of the attack early last year, the girl stopped in the Go Local shop on Scargreen Avenue in Norris Green, Liverpool, on her way home from school.
Khalio Worked As A Part-Time Shop Assistant
When she entered, Khalio, a part-time shop assistant from Wavertree’s Webster Road, was stacking shelves. Then, when she walked up to the cash register, he followed her and touched her bottom.
Told Her Not To Tell Anyone
He left her behind and went to the front door before coming back to her and squeezing her up against the counter. Khalio questioned her about her age and whether or not she loved him before admonishing her not to tell anyone what had transpired.
Pervert Behavior
Khalio then hiked up her skirt and started groping her thighs and legs before moving on to her underwear to continue his assault.
A new customer’s entry caused him to “leap away swiftly,” ending the confrontation after a “few minutes” and enabling her to flee.
Leaving Her Traumatized
She described the attack to police that evening after telling a friend how it left her “scared and in shock.” The adolescent recalled urging Khalio to leave her alone, but he kept going. She also claimed she was “so terrified” that she couldn’t scream or shout.
He Denied Assaulting Her
During the interview, the sex offender — who believed the child was 17 — “accepted flirting” with her. Furthermore, he “denied putting his hand up her skirt or touching her private area” and claimed to have been “just playing around.”
Khalio Has A Clean Record
Khalio, who is married and has a son who is 11 months old, has never been convicted of a crime before.

He Assaulted Her On Her 16th Birthday
According to the prosecutor, Andrew McInnes, the young woman was alone and still wearing her school uniform on her 16th birthday.
Convicted On Four Counts Of Sexual Assault
After being convicted responsible for four counts of sexual assault following a hearing before magistrates, the defendant was given assistance from an interpreter in the courtroom.
Paying For His Crimes
Khalio received a six-month sentence in prison, a seven-year notification requirement, and a restraining order barring him from getting in touch with the victim for the following two years.
The Honorary Recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary KC stated during sentencing: “You just took advantage of the fact she was alone, and no one else was around.”
