When Hilary Swank sought to purchase land, the star always had it in mind that she wanted something that reminded her of nature and its elements. The actress who is currently expecting a set of twins with her husband, Philip Schneider, desired to own acres of land and did not hesitate to snag the opportunity when the 168 acres of land in South West Colorado was in the market. Now she and her spouse are anticipating the birth of their babies in their luxe rustic home with the perfect blend of nature.
Building Her Dream Home In The Mountains
Back in 2016, Swank and Shneider bought their large expanse of land, and in 2018 they broke ground. The Million Dollar Baby actress then collaborated with celebrity designer, Mark Zeff, who has earlier worked with her on her other lavish homes across the country. Zeff worked with Swank when she put together her homes in Los Angeles and New York. Speaking about working on the Colorado home, Zeff noted that the house was “very honest and unpretentious.” Building the home in the Colorado mountain terrains was not an easy task, because construction had to be put on hold after COVID-19 broke out.

Inside The Actress’ Dream Home
The nature-inspired house has been described as a modern setup put together with a blend of sustainable materials, and environmental upcycling. Speaking about the whole idea for the home, Swank explained that it was necessary to utilize materials from the land. The Boys Don’t Cry actress shared with AD :
“[We got into] the ground, and [found] all this rock. I mean, people pay thousands of dollars for this rock. And we thought, Hey, let’s utilize this”
The 48-year-old actress’s home features high stone walls, which she explained were chiseled by local masons. The outdoor walls were carved such that they were a perfect blend with the interior walls. The mountain range home bears expansive windows that gave Swank and her spouse a view of the Colorado mountains. The actress noted that the windows accounted for major expenses because she and her husband wanted to see the view “uninterrupted.”
The Unique Features
The expectant mom described the view as one of her favorite parts of living in her home. Swank and Schneider often get to watch the sunset ad according to her, it was “downright magical.” Another favorite for Swank is the dining room which opens to an indoor-outdoor area extending to several fireplaces. The other parts of the actress’ house are laid out on an open plan floor with antique furniture, and Morrocan rugs. In light of building her desired home, Swank made sure the large expanses of and was available so that her rescue dogs could roam free. However, it is safe to say that the volume is also an advantage seeing as the actress will soon be a mom of two.
Swank’s Journey To Motherhood
The You Are Not You star earlier made headlines in October after announcing that she was becoming a mother. The news came four years after she and Schneider tied the knot. Speaking on GMA, Swank shared that she had always wanted to be a mom. The star waited to have her kids at the right time, although it was something she had always thought of it since childhood.
