One of the hardest things about being a celeb mom is dealing with all the online trolls and mom-shamers. No one knows that better than Hilary Duff.
Over the years, the actress has been the target of numerous trolls for things like kissing her son on the lips and choosing to stop breastfeeding her daughter.
Now, in a new interview, Hilary has addressed all those mom-shamers and shut them down once and for all.
Besides being an actress and the eternal idol for many millennial women, Hilary Duff is also a mom to two adorable kids.
Hilary has a seven-year-old son, Luca, from her marriage to Mike Comrie, and welcomed a baby girl named Banks last fall with her fiancé, Matthew Koma.
Hilary has been extremely candid when it comes to sharing her life as a busy mom.
Unlike a lot of celebrities, Hilary’s Instagram is full of real and relatable photos that detail her struggles with motherhood.
Banks had colic, which was especially challenging for Hilary.
Even though she’s been so honest, Hilary has also been the subject of repeated mom-shaming online.
Like a lot of celeb moms, it seems that Hilary can’t do anything without hearing from the internet.
When she shared this photo of Luca feeding Banks, for example, many people commented saying that Banks was in the incorrect feeding position.
Hilary also penned an emotional post when she decided to stop breastfeeding Banks.
After six months of breastfeeding, Hilary decided to stop and opened up about her decision. Her 16-hour-days on the set of Younger made pumping and breastfeeding very difficult.
While many praised her for her honesty in this post, others still chimed in with their opinion.
Sigh.. can’t we just let moms decide what’s best for them and their babies?
And when Hilary shared this photo of Banks drinking a bottle, commenters wondered what she was drinking.
If I had to take a guess, I would say probably formula, but what difference does that make? Just let Banks drink her bottle and enjoy the cute pic, people!
Others criticized Hilary for letting Banks wear teething jewelry.
And these are the types of comments that celebrity parents have to deal with every day when they just want to post photos of their kids like the rest of us.
In a new interview with “Glamour” Hilary addressed the mom-shaming she’s received over the years.
“I just saw a comment on my Instagram that was like, ‘Were you feeding your child solids while she was laying down?'” Hilary said .
“I’m like, You know what, I’m going to feed my daughter how I want to feed my daughter. And if that’s laying down, or hanging upside down because it works for her, we’re gonna do it,” she said.
When it comes to the mom-shamers, it looks like Hilary is going to take the high road and just ignore them.
She knows what’s best for her kids, so she’s just going to keep on doing what she’s doing. You tell ’em, Hilary!
