Unforgettable December 15th
Undoubtedly, December 15th would remain a sacred day for the Milns as Dave Miln and his wife Clare were driving their two young daughters, Anna, 1, and Isla, 3, to ski lessons at Mammoth Mountain in Northern California when a motorized snow blower struck them.
Dave Managed To Protect Both Girls

The former member of the Australian Defense Force, who had been residing in San Diego, California, threw himself over the kids to prevent them from being sucked into the machine. Despite Isla’s serious injuries, he could keep Anna under his body.
Stayed Consciously In Pain For An Hour
Dave was locked in the machine for more than an hour before rescuers could remove him and take him to a hospital. Dave didn’t lose consciousness at any point during the ordeal.
Sacrificing Himself For His Girls

According to a GoFundMe created to aid the family after the tragedy, Dave was able to keep Anna safe, but Isla was seriously hurt. After Clare raised the alarm, authorities were ordered to transport the couple’s oldest daughter to a nearby hospital.
Father Of The Century
Due to his injuries, Dave had both of his legs amputated: the right leg below the knee and the left leg above the knee. In addition, he suffered fractures to his three ribs, sacrum, pelvis, several lower vertebrae, and both femurs.
Isla Sustained Injuries

According to Bogan, Dave had ten procedures in three weeks, and there will be many more.
Isla also sustained severe wounds, including breaks in her legs and pelvis. She has had a number of operations, and a full recovery is anticipated.

Police Intervention

According to Christina Ackerman, the chief’s assistant at the Mammoth Lakes Police Department, officers were called to a complaint at 9:08 a.m. on Minaret Road, close to the well-known ski resort Mammoth Mountain.
To treat the significant injuries brought on by the snow machine, Dave was taken to Reno.
The Description Of A Snowblower

Mechanical road snow blowers are made to remove snow and make pathways wider.
Tractors can be driven mechanically or hydraulically. Some have a blade that resembles a corkscrew that lifts the snow before it is blown to the side of the road. They may weigh more than a thousand pounds .
A Long Road To Recovery
On Saturday, Bogan updated the family’s condition, adding that Dave still has a long road to recovery ahead of him in his home in Australia.
In an earlier report, Bogan stated,
Anna Puts On A Good Behavior
Bogan also informed the audience of Anna, the uninjured sister. Anna is doing her best to act like a little sister who knows that her sister cannot pursue her at this time.
Claire Trying To Hold The Family Together

The family’s caretaker, Dave’s wife Clare, is “brave, strong, and quite simply using every ounce of strength she has to hold life together,” according to Bogan.
However, to keep the kids’ spirits high while they are fighting, “she is doing her best to keep the girls busy with visits to see Daddy, excursions to the park, and play dates with friends.”
Supporting Dave’s Recuperation Process
The GoFundMe, which has received more than $106,000, is intended to support Dave’s extensive recuperation process.
Funds will be used, among other things, for “Dave’s car adaptations, domestic equipment and modification, and other bits and pieces that Dave will require to adjust to his impairment.”
The End Of A California Dream

Dave had been residing in San Diego, California, but the family intends to relocate to Australia. According to a family acquaintance, Tsen Bogan, their “California Dream has come to an early end.”
Bogan asked that we give generously while Dave relearns how to run, so their energy and strength are focused on healing.
