Michael Jackson was married twice, his first wife being daughter of Elvis Presley, Lisa-Marie Presley. The two were only married for a little over two years, but those years proved to be significant in the life of Jackson, as he was married to Marie following his first child molestation allegations in 1993.
In May 1994, Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley secretly married. Their union was kept private for two months until Presley confirmed the marriage in a statement to the public.

“I am very much in love with Michael, I dedicate my life to being his wife” she told the media .
Since their divorce in August of 1996, Lisa Marie has commented on hers and Michael relationship in many different interviews throughout the years.

Though their marriage was brief, Lisa Marie has had a lot to say about Michael and his lifestyle.
Lisa Marie told Oprah back in 2010 about the similarities between her father Elvis, and Michael.

“The one thing that correlates with Michael and with my father on this subject is that they had the luxury of creating whatever reality around them they wanted to create” she told Oprah .
When Michael and Lisa Marie were interviewed by Diane Sawyer in 1995, they addressed Michael’s relationships with young boys.

Lisa Marie defended Michael’s friendships, saying she knew the children they surrounded themselves with —”I’ve seen this. I’ve seen it a lot. I’ve seen kids. I’ve seen him with children in the last year. “
She continued “They don’t even let him go to the bathroom without running in there with him.”

“When he jumps in the bed, I’m even out. He jumps in there with them.”
When asked if Lisa Marie would let her own son do that she replied confidently that if it were Michael, it would be okay.

“If I didn’t know Michael, no way. But I happen to know who he is and what he is, and I know that he’s not like that. I know that he has a thing for children.”
In regards to her marriage to Jackson being a hoax or publicity stunt, she continued to shut down rumours in a follow-up interview with Sawyer in 2003.

She continued to insist her marriage to Michael was completely genuine — if unconventional.
“It’s unfortunate that not a lot of people know who he really is because he doesn’t let anybody see it.”

“He has an idea of how he should represent himself to the public which he thinks works for him, which is that sort of meek, victim, quiet thing that he does,” she said.
She continued, “He wants to lock into you and he wants to intrigue you and capture you, and whatever he wants to do with you, he can do it.”

“He’s very capable of doing that.”
In J. Randy Taraborrelli’s explosive 2003 tell all book about Michael’s life, “The Magic And The Madness,” Lisa gave her last public statement about the allegations.

She said , “I believed he didn’t do anything wrong, and that he was wrongly accused and, yes, I started falling for him. I wanted to save him. I felt that I could do it”
In the book, Taraborrelli claims Lisa told Michael to check into rehab after the allegations were brought against him.

Lisa said she “encouraged Michael to settle out of court and check into rehab after the stress left him self-medicating”.
In “Leaving Neverland” James Safechuck accused Michael of marrying Lisa Marie to cover his tracks.

“I remember Michael saying he was going to have to have these public relationships with women so people wouldn’t think anything,” said Safechuck.
He continued, “He would always say he was going to get married.”

“He said, ‘One day I am going to have to go get married but it wasn’t going to mean anything.’”
Despite the divorce, Lisa Marie and Michael continued to be spotted together throughout 1997 and 1998 as she travelled with him on tour.

Though we may never know the full truth, it’s clear Lisa Marie Presley cherished her time with Jackson, “I fell in love with him, I did. Everything I said was the truth.”
