Fans criticized Gigi Hadid after she was photographed running errands in a less-than-fashionable outfit, but instead of rolling over and taking the unnecessary backlash, she fired back in a series of tweets.
Gigi Hadid took to Twitter to air out her frustration yesterday.

After she was photographed by paparazzi wearing a casual outfit — black leggings, white sneakers and a black puffy jacket, fans criticized her for not being as glammed up as usual.
While any decent person would see this photo and see nothing more than an off-duty model running errands in a comfortable but still trendy outfit, evidently, not everyone is a decent person.

“She’s such a natural beauty… idk what happened to her iconic street style tho,” someone wrote in a since-deleted tweet .
One of Gigi’s fan accounts retweeted the criticism and replied to it, saying: “What happened is called Mimi.”
For those of you that don’t know, this tweet is referring to Mimi Cuttrell, Gigi’s stylist.
Mimi and Gigi have a long-standing friendship, as they have been working together since 2016.

So, naturally, Gigi did not take too kindly to those that were dragging her outfit and her stylist.
“U guys need to calm tf down sometimes,” Gigi tweeted.

“It’s called stepping out to do one errand- not dressing for your approval,” she went on.
She explained that these needless complaints aren’t going to make her change the way she dresses.

“Your unrealistic expectations & petty complaining all the time about my style or not being sexy enough isn’t going to make me dress differently.”
“Not just talking about this specific comment,” she continued in another tweet.

“U all talk about empowering women. I support and empower women that show skin and that don’t.
“It’s about choice,” she added. “I show skin when I want to”.

“And still feel sexy covered head to toe & will continue to do so. Over the snarky comments.”
The original person who started all of this replied to Gigi’s rant, retracting their statement and apologizing.

I’m sure they never anticipated that Gigi was going to call them out and they would have to face the music.
The explained they “didn’t mean to upset” anyone.

“I mean I just don’t like the recent outfits, I liked the old ones better,” they wrote.
“And I think that’s great, dress however u want….,” they concluded.
Gigi replied to that tweet as well, further clarifying once more that she doesn’t give a single F about anybody’s opinion on her clothing choices.
“I like what I wear and wear it for that reason,” she wrote.

“It’s not about a stylist, it’s how I’m choosing to express myself. Your opinion isn’t going to change that.”
“Those of you who feel this way should focus your energy on praising those whose style u love. Peace,” she concluded.

Back in 2018, Gigi’s stylist actually made a comment about how she intentionally chooses outfits that don’t show off much skin .
“I think that you don’t need to show skin to be sexy. It’s more about how you carry yourself and being effortless,” she said.

“For [Gigi], for the CFDAs, I wanted her to make a high-fashion statement. She wore The Row and was completely covered up, and she looked so beautiful.”
So, anyway, let this be a lesson to all of you. If you have something to say about the way Gigi dresses, she’s coming for you!
