In the chaos leading up to the 2020 Presidental elections, tensions can be a little bit high.
This is probably why Garth Brooks fans were so quick to jump on their beloved country music singer for wearing the jersey.
Little did they know that “Sanders” is a pretty common name in the US.

So Garth Brooks wore this jersey to a concert the other day.
He was playing at Ford Field, for 70,000 fans in Detroit, Michigan. It was a moment to honor not just Sanders, but Detroit in general. In his own words:
“Detroit You carried me all night long But you always have I’m in love with you! love, g”
Of course, chaos erupted.
“Good grief. Can’t you just do what you get paid to do ???? Why why why does it have to involve politics !!! So sad. We don’t pay good money for anything other than to watch you perform. Thought you were different. ♀️”
That was just one of the thousands of comments.
But Garth Brooks wasn’t wearing a “Bernie Sanders” jersey, he was wearing a “Barry Sanders” jersey.
The legendary running back who played for the Detroit Lions for most of his career.
