Getting a t-shirt of your favorite band or singer is a joy to live for. However, that wasn’t the case for a Billie Eilish fan who received a t-shirt that appeared to be inappropriately stained.
When comparing the promotional image to real-life images of the t-shirt, some people believe that there is a significant difference, so much so they’d demand a refund if they were the user.

Expectations vs. reality
The t-shirt is an oversized navy one featuring Eilish seemingly underwater, blowing bubbles out of her mouth for $45 on her official merch site.
The reality of things, however, is that the print looks different and there are white dots on the t-shirt that feel like stains.
Some people thought it was inappropriate
“From a distance, this looks like something else,” a person noted. Another added: “You just need to iron it and then put it in the nearest trash.”
While a third advised, “I saw something totally different. It took me a second to realize it was Billy. Get a refund NOW!!”
While others thought they got what they ordered
”Terrible merch. Worst part is that it’s not even misprinted,” one user expressed his opinion.
Another wondered: “It’s awful, but it looks exactly like the picture… it looks awful on the website, too. Why is there so little contrast in the image?”
A fan’s story stood out
While fans are going back and forth about the t-shirt, one fan is grateful for it as she lost her Bad Guy singer‘s t-shirt in the Altadena wildfires, and it’s all thanks to Meghan Markle. She managed to reach out to Eilish after the 15-year-old fan lost her beloved t-shirt.
Markle’s unwavering support
Markle talked about the fan in an Instagram post, saying: “All she’d been looking for in her home was the T-shirt from the Billie Eilish concert that she had just gone to. Of course they now see their home and the washing machine, their dryer, are ash. They’re not there anymore.”
She and her husband have been helping others
As reported by Vanity Fair on February 5, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been helping a group of Altadena girls with donations and fundraising to support the community due to the houses and other properties being destroyed.
She tried to get to Eilish
“So I said, ‘I don’t know Billie Eilish. But I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt.’ So I thought of everybody that I knew, and I made a voice note, and I was like, ‘Please, can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish? Here’s what I’m asking,'” Markle continued in her post.
Markle was able to reach her
Eventually, she was able to reach out to Eilish through Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo. Not only did Eilish donate a t-shirt but also a lunchbox and a signed vinyl of her 2024 album Hit Me Hard and Soft.
“You guys, I don’t even know what all this stuff means but it’s signed for her,” Markle said in reference to Eilish’s donations, which made her feel “really old.”
Eilish’s potential collaboration
Both Eilish and Ariana Grande recently met for a special screening of Grande’s latest movie, Wicked. Both hinted at a potential collaboration with Eilish saying: “I would love to do that,” after unintentionally telling the people there, “OK, a few more songs”—instead of “questions.”
