Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the most beloved and respected actresses in Hollywood. This living legend and Emmy-winning actress has been at the helm of some of the most iconic films of the past 45 years.
Recently, it was announced that Jamie’s youngest daughter, Ruby Guest , is marrying her longtime partner, Cynthia. To make the event even more spectacular, Jamie confirmed that she herself will be officiating — in full cosplay gear .

It’s been more than 44 years since Jamie Lee Curtis first burst onto the scene in ‘Halloween’.
Over the course of Jamie’s iconic career, which spans six decades, she’s racked up quite an impressive resume. She’s been an actress, a model, producer, as well as a director.
Now, after a storied career packed with highlights and accolades, Jamie appears poised to add yet another feather to her cap.
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jamie revealed that she will be officiating the wedding of her youngest daughter, Ruby Guest.
To make matters even more interesting, Jamie explained that the wedding is going to have a cosplay theme.
Cosplay is the shorthand for “costume play.” It’s when devoted fans dress up in full garb in order to pay homage to their favorite comic book, movie, television, or video game character.
“Everybody at the wedding will be in costume,” Jamie explained. “And I will be in a costume to officiate the wedding.”
It’s not every day that you hear of someone throwing a cosplay wedding. When Jimmy asked whether or not there was any kind of over-arching theme, Jamie reiterated “It’s a cosplay wedding.”
When Jimmy asked what Jamie planned on wearing, the ‘Halloween Kills’ star said that Ruby picked it out herself.
“Her name is Jaina Proudmore — does anybody here know what that is ?” Jamie asked the audience. “It’s a game. She’s an admiral.”
For a little nerd context, Jaina Proudmore is a character from the widely popular PC game — World Of Warcraft.
According to legend, Jaina Proudmore is considered to be one of the most powerful Mages in all of Azeroth, as well as the most powerful human sorceress alive.
Jamie set to work trying to find a Jaine Proudmore costume and luckily found a seamstress on Etsy willing to do the job.
However, Jamie revealed that she recently hit a snag when it came to having the costume delivered. As she, unfortunately, came to learn, her seamstress is located in Russia.
Without missing a beat, Jimmy came up with an on-the-spot solution for Jamie, in the event her cosplay outfit doesn’t arrive on time.
“There are a lot of people in costume outside, who will trade for, like — if you gave them a 6-pack of Four Loko, you could probably come out with a pretty good costume,” Jimmy joked .
On a more serious note, Jamie talked about how much it meant to her to have both daughters married at her home.
“My elder daughter, Annie, was married three years ago in the backyard,” Jamie said . “Both of my children will have been married in my backyard, which brings me to tears.”
Since news of the nuptials broke, the internet has been positively giddy at the prospect of Jamie officiating a cosplay wedding.
Twitter user @HeyArt3mis made reference to the fact that Ruby has become a role model for the LGBTQIA+ community, and that Jamie stands as a role model for all parents.
“Aw, this makes me miss my old WoW days,” fellow Twitter user @ChrisHampton said.
Yet another Twitter user who goes by the handle @pink_tofu tweeted out that “Watching Jamie Lee Curtis school Jimmy Kimmel on cosplay is absolute 2022 mood.”
Jamie is living proof that you’re never too old to learn something new.
