Dog the Bounty Hunter is honoring his late wife’s mother’s wishes by having their ashes buried next to one another.
Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, 69, gave some of his late wife Beth Chapman’s ashes to her sister, Melinda. This follows the death of Beth’s mother, Bonnie Joan, who passed away late last year.
Bonnie Joan Johannsen Passed Away In November 2022.
Cecily Chapman, daughter of Beth and adopted by Dog, shared the devastating news on Instagram , as well as pictures of the funeral service.
It Was Bonnie Joan’s Wish To Be Laid To Rest With Her Daughter.
TMZ reports that Bonnie Joan had made this request, and Dog the Bounty Hunter had wanted to make it a reality.
While he did hold a memorial for Beth where he spread her ashes in Hawaii , he had been using ceremonial ashes at the time, and still had the real ones.
Beth And Bonnie Joan’s Relationship Wasn’t Always The Easiest.
Reportedly, the two had a rather rocky relationship. But after learning news of Beth’s cancer diagnosis, the mother and daughter began to mend their relationship and ended in a much better place before Beth’s passing.

Beth passed away shortly thereafter at age 51, and the memorial in Hawaii was held at the end of June.
Dog Recalled Beth’s Last Words To Him.
“When she had an attack I didn’t know anything to do but to say ‘in Jesus’ name’ and hold her, and when I said ‘in Jesus’ name’ she said, ‘Say it again, say it more,’” he recalled, as per US Magazine . “And then she told the girls and everybody, with her mouth — she came out of it a couple times — ‘I love you’ and ‘Are you guys all OK? Don’t worry,’ but she never accepted it.”
While Dog Had Some Of Beth’s Ashes To Give To Her Sister, He Had Spread Some In Other Places.
While the ashes used in the memorial in Hawaii were ceremonial, Dog did spread some of Beth’s ashes in places that were important to them.
Now, She And Her Mother Are Reunited In The Afterlife.
Dog said to TMZ , “I understand now what rest in peace truly means. I’m hopeful Beth can now rest in peace.”
