Now this story is too cute for words.
The Rock’s voice is pretty unmistakable. It’s as recognizable as the man himself…and yet his own daughter had no idea that he was actually the voice of Maui himself.
The Rock has three children.
He married Dany Garcia Johnson in 1997. They welcomed daughter Simone Alexander in 2002.
The two eventually amicably divorced in 2007. He chooses not to share much about her on social media to protect her privacy.
However, Dany still plays a major role in his life…
She’s his manager!
She and the Rock co-founded Seven Bucks Productions together. They began dominating the box office with movies like Baywatch and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle .
Basically, they’re business magic together.
He met Lauren Hashian in 2006.
While filming The Game Plan , he kept running into the same woman at a restaurant they both frequented.
They got together in 2007, and finally married in 2019 in a very private ceremony.
Daughter Jasmine came along in 2015.
After 9 years together, the Rock and Lauren welcomed baby Jasmine into the world.
He posts about Jasmine quite a bit on Instagram. She’s basically his mini-me, aka she’s tough as nails and full of energy.
And finally, Tiana Gia joined the family.
Lauren gave birth to tiny Tiana Gia in 2018!
Their giant blended family of the Rock, Lauren, Dany, Simone, Jasmine, and Tiana Gia is as adorable as it is beautiful. Family goals, y’all.
So, as you can imagine…
After 18 years, The Rock is no stranger to being totally humbled by his children.

He often talks about them on social media or in interviews, and the stories he tells often involve him being the butt of the kids’ jokes.
As it should be.
He recounted one of these moments to “People” magazine.
“I said, ‘You know, that’s Daddy’s voice, and I’m going to show you,'” he said , recalling the first time he and Jasmine sat down to watch the movie together.
Man, imagine watching “Moana” with the Rock.
Now that would be awesome!
He prepared her for a magical moment.
“Maui starts singing, and I then start singing, and within 10 seconds she’s trying to put a pillow over my mouth and says, ‘You’re ruining the song.'”
OH so she fully roasted her dad, huh.
I guess there was no live rendition of “You’re Welcome” for Jasmine, huh?
That’s not the only family connection in “Moana”, though!
After a clever fan posted a side-by-side comparison on Twitter, the Rock revealed that the character design of Maui was based on his grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia of Samoa.
A similar thing happened with Simone.
“Simone went to a Jingle Ball concert a few years back and had met all the artists,” he explained.
Why yes, I *did* have to look up what the Jingle Ball is, and apparently it’s a massive holiday tour of super famous people.
Like, Taylor Swift famous.
Simone apparently came home star-struck.
“She came back to the house and said it was amazing and was like, ‘I’ve never been around anybody famous before.’ And I’m like, ‘No one, you sure?'”
I love that subtle confirmation that the Rock doesn’t hang out with Hollywood people a lot.
And now, for the best of the Rock and Jasmine:
The Rock was up and ready to go to work. Jasmine was up and ready to paint his nails.
You can see which one of them won that battle. Hey, at least she went with the “badass” colors he asked for!
Thanksgiving is a lot for everyone in the Johnson house.
“11:30 am, already tired and our butts kicked on the bedroom floor and we haven’t even eaten our Thanksgiving meal yet. This is not a good sign. Powering back up in 3…2 #TeamOneSock,” he wrote .
One tough flower girl.
This is so WHOLESOME.
“In the few minutes before the ceremony we took to practice, I quickly realized she was determined to not gently lay the flowers, but rather intensely throw the flowers with ruthless aggression ~ and a wicked smile. Hell. Yeah. That’s my daughter!”
Jasmine vs. Kevin Hart.
This story starts out wholesome, but ends with the total destruction of Kevin Hart.
“It warms my cold black heart as she just sits on the ground and looks up in complete loving awe and says “Wow daddy you’re so strong” while I hammer away Ironically, my baby son @kevinhart4real does the exact same thing too when he comes to watch me workout. “
