Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has opened up on how he feels that gym time positively impacts his mental health. The Fast & Furious actor and kingpin of Hollywood muscle might put on a macho front with his jaw-dropping muscles and sense of humor, but underneath, there is a man who is happy to admit that he has suffered from depression. In a new interview, Dwayne has opened up on working out being a “help” in his battle against the condition, although he did clearly state that it “doesn’t fix the problem.” The 50-year-old is the latest star to cover Men’s Health , which ran a full feature on him.
Working Out Absolutely Helps
Speaking candidly about tougher past times, the Under Armour face shared:
“During those times when I fell into and was challenged by depression, the gym became my best friend —and I know it’s like that for a lot of people,” adding: “You’re able to go to the gym to sweat out toxins and get a little bit more clarity when you walk out the door. It doesn’t fix the problem, but it helps.”
