It seems that Woody Allen is getting a lot of free passes these days from famous actresses. First, it was Scarlett Johannson, who said she believes him and now it’s Vanessa Hudgens!
Vanessa Hudgens speaking up will surely bring about tons of backlash, but we will have to wait and see if that actually happens.
Woody Allen’s daughter Dylan Farrow has accused him of sexually abusing her.
Whether it’s true or not we don’t know, these are just the allegations.
But tons of people have taken Dylan’s side, standing by her and applauding her bravery for telling her tale.
Because of this, he was actually affected by the #MeToo movement.
Amazon canceled his movie A Rainy Day In New York once the allegations came up.
The star of the film, Timothée Chalamet, donated his salary to the Time’s Up organization. Fans rallied behind him when he made the decision.
But none of this seems to bother Vanessa Hudgens’ or change her opinion of him.
She was in an interview with the LA Times , where she discussed all the directors she’d love to work with. Allen was amongst them.
“I love Woody Allen films. ‘Vicky Christina Barcelona’ is one of my favorite movies.” she said.
When she was asked why she named him,of all people, despite the allegations, she replied:
“I don’t know him. I’ve never met him… I only know what I’ve heard. The fact is, I love his films and I love the romantic worlds that are created within [them].”
This will surely create some controversy for her major fans. On the other hand, she has a right to speak her mind!
