You may have noticed that Demi Moore and her family have been spending a lot more time together recently — quarantining together, wearing matching pajamas — and if that seems odd to you it’s because it is !
Demi’s daughter, Tellulah Willis, recently revealed that she and her mom were estranged for three years.
Thankfully, however, the two have reunited and seem tigher than ever!
Last fall, Demi Moore released a memoir detailing her infamous, toxic, whirlwind relationship with Ashton Kutcher.
In light of all the new, unpleasant information about their relationship, Demi and her daughters, Tellulah and Rumer, visited Red Table Talk to discuss the ways it affected their relationship with each other.
Demi revealed at the time that she was dealing with her addiction to alcohol and her “addiction to Ashton”, which ultimately separated her from her family.
“The addiction and the co-dependency… like my addiction to Ashton — that was probably almost more devastating,” she said .
“Because it took me seriously away emotionally,” she added.
Tellulah then chimed in, revealing that her mom’s relationship with Ashton caused a rift between her and her daughters .
She explained that her older sisters had moved out of the house, and her mom was preoccupied with Ashton, which left her feeling very alone.
“Watching the behavior with Ashton, those years, because everyone had left the house and it was just me living there. I felt very forgotten,” she said.
“I feel like I developed and nurtured a narrative where she didn’t love me and I truly believed it,” she went on .
“I know that she does, 100 percent but in that moment you’re hurt and you can’t fathom that someone that loves you would do that to you — would choose someone more than you,” Tellulah said.
What she didn’t tell us is that she and Demi ended up not speaking to each other for three years.
But in a Mother’s Day tribute last weeked, she unpacked her and her mom’s falling out and how they managed to find their way back to each other.
“Channeling love and strength to every mother to be, tired mamas, step moms, and mamas who’ve lost something precious,” she began.
“I’m sending it to anyone who struggles to celebrate a day when it reminds them of a loss.”
“I didn’t talk to my mom for almost 3 years and during that shattered time this day would transport me from fragmented pieces to absolute dust .”
“I remember tearing up driving to work upon hearing a radio ad that cheerily recommend which ‘perfume Mom would absolutely adore’.”
“I digested the entire celebratory nature of the day as an insensitive slight to MY pain and MY story,” she continued .
“However, my story changed. Through a metamorphosis of inward self reflection and a malleability to forgive, 3 years did not stretch to forever.”
“The gratitude of that truth has never lost its potency. I am magnetically transfixed by my mother,” she went on .
“If you know me personally you know the magnitude of her presence in my life.”
She explained that she would love to know what it would be like to meet her mother when she was in her 20s.

I’m so glad that Demi and her daughter were able to mend their relationship!
It seems, based on Tellulah’s post, that their time apart only made their bond stronger and made their appreciation for each other more significant.
