Considering how well the first movie did, was it any surprise that it would get a sequel?
And right smack dab in the middle of Phase 4 Marvel!

Well, this should be interesting. One has to wonder when the next Avengers is coming out, and if Captain Marvel 2 will come before or after.
So we all saw this coming.
Almost every single Marvel movie gets a sequel, and if it doesn’t, it’s because it was a failed property like The Incredible Hulk .
But Captain Marvel in no way failed.
A second movie was inevitable.
So what do we know about this upcoming sequel?
We know it’s coming out in 2022 and we know the original writer Megan McDonnell is writing the script for it.
Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck won’t be back, because they may be looking to do something else with Marvel.
But we know Kevin Feige is looking for a woman to direct. Not just that, but it’s confirmed that it will now be taking place in the present.
And of course, Brie Larson will be back.
But Brie Larson said she had no idea when it was supposed to come out.
She said in an interview after she was asked about the sequel :
“I don’t really know what job I’m going to do next, which is very exciting. I don’t even know what my life’s gonna be!”
