Okay, so here’s the thing:
A sister of the bride recently posted on Reddit’s AITA (Am I the Asshole) thread asking people if she was being inconsiderate of her sister’s wedding. This lady actually got engaged a week before her sister’s scheduled ceremony. Oh, oh!
Can you sense what’s coming?
Naturally, she’s excited and wants to share everything with her family. But her sister, the bride, asked her to specifically refrain from talking about the engagement until after her wedding ceremony. That seems fair enough, no?
Now it gets complicated.
Both sisters haven’t seen their entire families for quite some time. So the bride wants to keep the day and the few wedding-related occasions to be all about her. But the sister insists that she wants to take this opportunity to discuss her engagement and her upcoming wedding with the family, too.
See the conundrum?
The engaged sister is furious and thinks that the bride is a bridezilla even though their brother is siding with the bride. After all, she’s the one who planned the wedding of her dreams for over a year, and the other sister just got engaged.
Wow, talking about a family drama, huh?
After the sister posted on Reddit asking people to chime in — they sure did. Boy, they had a lot to say. Most people believe that a sister’s wedding isn’t the right place to discuss your own engagement.
There’s a right time and place for that, right?
And doing so at another person’s wedding isn’t that time. Can I hear an “amen” to that? I mean, if I were the bride in this situation, I would be peeved at my sister. Let’s not sugarcoat this, okay?
