In case you’ve been living under a rock, it’s been five years of an ongoing divorce battle between exes Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and their six children. The pair, who was once one of the most iconic Hollywood couples, have turned on each other. Their treacherous and lengthy divorce process is inching closer to six years every single day.
Now, the latest saga includes the pair’s wine business, Miraval Rosé.

TMZ reports that Brad Pitt is suing his ex-wife Angelina Jolie for allegedly secretly selling her interest in the winery they own together to a Russian oligarch.
As fans of the pair may recall, the 2 bought Chateau Miraval in Correns, France back in 2008.
The legal documents describe the Chateau as a “small, unprofitable wine business” that was “in need of renovation” prior to the couple’s purchase.
As fans may recall, the pair was able to marry in that same vineyard in August 2014 after 10 years together.
Brad states that he invested a significant amount of money and time in the winery over the years, while also acknowledging that his ex put down 40% of the $28.4 million purchase price.
Brad says he alone made the winery successful because the mom of six wasn’t dedicating as much time as he was to the endeavor.
The actor goes on to claim that the pair had an understanding that neither of them could sell their interest without the other’s consent.
Fast forward to last July, Angelina went to court and told the judge she had reached an agreement to sell her interest in Miraval to an unnamed person.
Brad says in September he agreed to allow his ex-wife to pursue the sale but made it clear this didn’t mean he consented to it.
Instead, it meant he would give his approval, or disapproval, to the purposed buyer. However, Brad alleges that he was shocked to find out that Angelina had sold her share to a company called Tenute del Mondo, controlled by Russian oligarch, Yuri Shefler, in October.
If you don’t keep up with the latest booze news, Luxembourg-based Tenute del Mondo is an incredibly successful liquor company on their own.
In addition to Stoli Group , Tenute del Mondo co-owns wine brands Masseto, Ornellaia, Luce and CastelGiocondo, as per FoodBev.
Soon after the news broke, the global CEO of Stoli Group, Damian McKinney, commented on their new partnership with Miraval.
“We have long admired Miraval’s exceptional wines and brand,” he began .
“We are truly honoured to do our part to uphold the integrity and commitment, as well as invest the time and passion, evidenced in both the Chateau and the Miraval brand.”
“We are thrilled to have a position alongside Brad Pitt as curators of their extraordinary vintages”.
A source close to Brad spoke to the news outlet about Angelina’s decision.
“Unfortunately, this is another example of the same person disregarding her legal and ethical obligations. In doing so, she has violated the rights of the only person who poured money and sweat equity into the success of the business by purporting to sell both the business and family home to a third-party competitor.”
They continued: “She is seeking a return on an investment she did not make and profits she did not earn.”
Brad wants the judge to undo the deal, and sue Angelina in damages for his time after he claims Yuri Shefler is making it difficult to run his business.
