In 2022, fans witnessed the release of some truly epic films in Hollywood. Be it Tom Cruise’s return as Maverick or The Rock as Black Adam. However, the industry has not let its foot off the gas as we near the end of the year. James Cameron’s highly anticipated second installment of Avatar hit the screens 13 years after its debut a few weeks back. And to round it all off, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie’s film Babylon was released yesterday. The movie directed and written by Damien Chazelle was a highly-anticipated film, to begin with, however, the stories shared by Pitt and Robbie have only further heightened the sense of excitement for the movie.
The Opening Scene
One of the major points of discussion after the release of the movie was the opening scene. The opening scene of Babylon is a party filled with sex, drugs, nudity, and booze. A party so wild that neither of the protagonists in the film had ever attended such a party in real life. While the movie does tone down a bit from there, it sets the bar pretty high as to what you can expect from the movie going forward.
Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie Share Their Thoughts
When asked if he had been to parties similar to the opening scene of Babylon , Pitt said, “That wild? No. I’ve probably been to parties where a lot of that was going on in back rooms. I just didn’t make it into those rooms. We don’t have that kind of unbridled, debaucherous, Wild West freedom that is described of Hollywood in that time before ratings came in, as they were discovering it as a big business.”
