Bill Cosby has been enshrouded in yet another sexual assault scandal as he is being slammed with another lawsuit. Back in June 2021, Cosby was released from prison, but now it seems he will battle yet another assault case in court. The TV star has faced several sexual assault lawsuits since his release.
Cosby’s Latest Assault Lawsuit
The 85-year-old comedian is being sued by Stacey Pinkerton due to an alleged encounter from 1986. According to the plaintiff, she and Cosby had an encounter where she was drugged and assaulted. She relayed that the accused manipulated her into believing he was trying to help boost her career. Per Just Jared , Pinkerton also claimed that Cosby kissed and touched her inappropriately later in the same year. The lawsuit which was filed in Manhattan also named NBC, Kaufman Astoria Studios, and the Carsey-Werner Company as defendants.
More On Pinkerton’s Lawsuit
Prior to Pinkerton’s lawsuit, five women came forward earlier in the year claiming that The Cosby Show star had sexually assaulted them; two of the women worked with him on the famous 80s show. In retrospect, both lawsuits were filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. This act allows sexual abuse survivors to file lawsuits after the statute of limitations has been exceeded.
Cosby has been in the sexual assault scandal for years and things came to a head in 2018 when he was convicted. The ruling was overturned in 2021.
Inside The Recent Lawsuits
The five women who accused Cosby of either sexually abusing them or forcing them to perform sexual acts dated the incidents between the 1980s and 1990s. This was at a time when Cosby’s career was at its peak. One of the plaintiffs was Cindra Ladd, a former Hollywood executive who stated that Cosby assaulted her in 1969. The other plaintiffs are Lili Bernard, Eden Tirl, Jennifer Thompson, and Jewel Gittens.
On The Accusations Levied Against Cosby

Bernard has been an actress on The Cosby Show and she was the first to come forward in 2015 with her allegation. The actress made her revelations during a press conference with Gloria Allred. She also filed a separate lawsuit in 2021 in New Jersey. Bernard was present at the 2022 civil trial of Cosby at Santa Monica. At the time, he was ordered to pay $500,000 to Judy Huth for his sexual misconduct against her in 1975.
Cosby’s Rep Reacted
Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt weighed in on the situation describing the five lawsuits as “frivolous.” He referred to the plaintiffs as a “parade of accusers” who came forward between 2014 and 2016. Wyatt stated that it was not about justice for “victims” but all “about money.” He noted that he believed the court would follow the rules of law and “relieve Mr. Cosby of these alleged accusations.”
Cosby Is Planning A Tour
Despite the scores of sexual misconduct claims and court rulings against him, Cosby seems to be keeping up an optimistic front. The star entertainer has announced that he would be going on a tour in 2023. The actor who has been maintaining his innocence for the longest time spoke of his plans for a career comeback in a recent interview. The star shared that he would be able to tour again. Cosby relayed,
“Yes, I’ll be able to tour again. When I come out of this, I feel that I will be able to perform and be the Bill Cosby that my audience knows me to be. Yes. Yes, because there’s so much fun to be had in this storytelling that I do.”
On Cosby’s Tour
While Cosby did not give much away concerning his tour, his representative, Andrew Wyatt made it known that the media personality would be looking toward a spring/summer tour. A quick retrospect on the recent development means Cosby could face possible backlash due to his serial record of sexual assault and the public scrutiny since the 2010s.
Reactions To Cosby’s Tour Plans
Cosby’s interview did spark outrage among social media users who weighed in on his career plans. Many supporters of the sexual assault survivors felt Cosby was out of line for making his announcement. All these stemmed from dozens of accusations that he had unwanted sexual encounters with women by slipping pills into their drinks and knocking them unconscious. There is a telling that Bill Cosby might face obstacles with his coming tour.
