I think we can all agree mommy-shamers are one of the worst types of internet trolls. They truly cannot let a new mom catch a break! They alllll think they know best and have no problem sharing their ~ superior ~ opinions online — insert eye roll here .
Now, child star Alexa PenaVega is slamming trolls who left horrible comments on her post about her son’s injury.
If you think the name Alexa PenaVega sounds familiar, it’s probably because you’ll remember her as Alexa Vega, “Spy Kids” movie franchise star.
She also starred in the often underrated film Sleepover from 2004 that if you haven’t seen yet, I encourage you to run to your TV and rent right now!

Alexa, who married singer Carlos Pena in 2014 (hence their married name, PenaVega) has three children.
The pair’s first son Ocean King PenaVega was born on December 7, 2016. Their second son, Kingston James PenaVega, was born on June 30, 2019.
Nearly two years later, the couple welcomed their daughter Rio Rey PenaVega on May 7th of this year.
As we all know, being a mom on social media is not easy, especially if you’re a celbrity.
Now, Alexa is having to clap back at online trolls who have been leaving hateful comments in regards to an accident her middle child Kingston was involved in last week.
“Hi friends. Friday night was rough. 🙁 While getting the kids ready for bed I shut Kingston‘s fingers in the hinge of the bathroom door,” she revealed in a series of posts she made on her Instagram Story.
“His first finger is bruised and a little bloody… but his middle finger took the brunt of it and was severed from the first knuckle near the tip. It was the most traumatic thing we’ve had to go through as a family. The mom guilt and shame was really hard to get through.”
“But thank God for prayer and for the sweet little bruiser Kingston is” she added, before praising her husband who stepped in to help.
“[Carlos] was amazing and swooped in like Superman to take care of our family. It took a minute to process what happened. If anything it made us all love each other even more and humbled us completely. Thankfully, Kingston is already doing flips like nothing happened … Gosh I love my babies!”
“They were not able to reattach the piece of his finger. Poor baby. But the other 9 are so cute! He’ll be more than fine!” the 33-year-old added.
Later that weekend, Alexa shared a video on social media to let her followers know that her “little man was doing great.”
Of course, this type of vulnerability is bait for mommy-shammers, who quickly unleashed on the mom of three.
Comments came flooding in asking how it’s possible for something like this to happen.
I’m sure these comments weren’t made by anyone with children, because anyone who has lived with a child knows exactly how easy it is for things like this to happen!
Sharing a video of her bathroom door to illustrate how simple it was to get her son’s fingers caught, Alexa shared an emotional message.
“Social media can be really frustrating. But after seeing the comments about people questioning my parenting and assuming I slammed a door in a fit of rage… absolutely not,” she captioned the video.
“I simply closed the door. That is literally what happened.”
“I know I will never be able to please everyone and people will be ugly to be ugly… and for those people all I can do is pray for them,” she added.
The comment section quickly became filled with love for the mom of three.
“You tell me what dingbats said that and I’ll be sure to show them that “fit of rage” they were speaking of.. I’m just kidding,” wrote Alexa’s sister. “But they do sound a bit silly searching for conspiracies within your personal traumatic experience that you were transparent enough to share publicly. Craziness. Lol”
“NOOO! My teacher did the EXACT same thing to a girl in my grade!!! YOU DID NOTHING WRONG!!!” said one fan.
“Don’t listen to them! A similar thing happened to my 9 month old. His finger is still badly dislocated 7 months later,” another fan wrote.
“Boys are curious and will always get their fingers in places they aren’t supposed to! I pray for his health and for for family during this time.”
I hope the hateful comments stop rolling in — accidents happen! We’re just so glad to hear Kingston is doing okay!
