In the fallout of the Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard defamation trial that has gripped the nation this spring, Discovery+ UK has announced a new documentary is in the works.
Discovery+, which had released a series of documentaries called Johnny vs Amber back in 2021, plans to document the goings on of the recent defamation trial that came to its conclusion at the beginning of June.

This comes in the wake of the conclusion of the trial, which was a televised event.
The trial, which began in April of 2022, saw Depp accuse Heard of defamation, after she called herself a survivor of domestic abuse in an op-ed published by The Washington Post. On June 1st, the court ruled against Heard, ordering her to pay Depp $15 million in damages , which was later lowered to $10.83 million.
With this new set of documentaries, Depp’s lawyers, including Camille Vasquez, are set to appear.
The second series, which will heavily feature the legal teams of Depp and Heard, will focus on interviews and testimonies from them. This includes Depp’s lawyers, Camille Vasquez and Benjamin G. Chew.
The second series was actually announced in May.
Back in May, in the midst of the trial, Discovery+ UK announced their plans to release a second series of Johnny vs. Amber , though many of the specifics were still unknown.
Like the first series, this one will also be split into two parts.
Each of the two episodes will focus on one side of the trial, gathering testimonies from family and friends, as well as the lawyers for Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
And it will show a different outcome than what had happened in the first case.
The first docuseries followed Depp’s 2020 defamation trial against Heard and The Sun, claiming that both had ruined his reputation. He ultimately lost this case.
This series is just one of many that the platform had announced.
Others that will follow a similar format include Coleen vs. Rebekah and Britney vs. Jamie . Like Jonny vs. Amber , they will each focus on high profile court cases.
Coleen vs. Rebekah will focus on a case between two British soccer players’ wives.
Coleen Rooney accused Rebekah Vardy of leaking personal information about her to tabloid publications, which caused Vardy to sue Rooney for defamation. Their trial occurred in May 2022 .
Britney vs. Jamie will focus on Jamie Spears’s conservatorship over his daughter, Britney Spears.
Britney’s conservatorship, which lasted for over 14 years, was finally terminated in November 2021 . The Britney vs. Jamie docuseries will focus on the events leading up to the termination.
A spokesperson for Discovery + released a statement about ‘Johnny vs. Amber’.

The case has been a huge point of interest for people around the world.
