It can’t be easy for a teenager to be who they truly are. Often kids fear ridicule by their peers or worse, being bullied . But sometimes, there’s a story that makes you believe in the kindness of people, and this is definitely one of these stories.
A high school boy dreamed of wearing a dress to his prom, and recently his dream came true. It was a moment to remember for sure.
Nina Green is a proud mama who recently shared a sweet post online.
She posted pictures on Twitter of her son, Korben, who got to wear a spectacular red gown to his high-school prom. This was truly a one-of-a-kind moment for this mom.

Oh my goodness, wow! As her post says, her son decided when he was 12-years-old that he wanted to wear a gown to his high school prom, and on July 1, 2022, his childhood wish came true.
I mean, look at the boy’s smile in this picture here.
That must’ve been pretty priceless for this mom to see. Her son wore a sequined tuxedo, and a ballgown skirt with a matching purse to go with the outfit. I think he looked pretty fearless, no?
So, how did his classmates react to this?
Apparently, when he showed up at his prom, he was cheered on by pupils and staff at the Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston, Norfolk. Aww, that’s so nice. The mom was so happy at the wonderful reception her son got from the entire school.
This mom wanted to share this moment with everyone out there.
She wanted to let other parents know that if they let their children be who they are, then they’ll get nothing but the best out of them. I think that’s totally right.
Nina said that her son was inspired by actor Billy Porter.
This mom was pleasantly surprised by how sweet everybody was about it. When Korben got out of the car, there were cheers, and the moment made her cry. Even some teachers shed a few tears when they witnessed it.

Nina said that Korben really wanted to go to prom as himself while expressing his feminine side. So, he wore a tuxedo on the top and a dress at the bottom. I don’t know about you but I think he totally rocked this look.
After Nina posted on Twitter she got a lot of love from fellow parents.
Some even shared pictures of their own children like this proud mama here. Isn’t that so sweet? It’s so important for children to feel accepted in this world, and these moms are doing their best to show support for their boys.
