Teenager Speaks Out After Her Homecoming Dress Was Shamed By Adults Online

Being teenager is hard.

They're at the most emotionally vulnerable stage of their brain development, and social media has kids holding themselves to insane standards. It's a no-win time in your life.

One TikTok user experienced the sheer evil of Facebook when her mom posted her homecoming pictures to the platform. Luckily, TikTok had her back.

So, here's where it started.

Lip syncing to Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever," Grace Blumfield posted on TikTok how proud she was of how her homecoming pictures of her and her boyfriend came out. They look GORGEOUS.

They chose the sunflower field for a very special reason.

"We took our homecoming pictures in a sunflower field that was planted in memorial for a fellow peer named Dalton Defilipi, who passed away last year," she told Buzzfeed.

However, the grown adults on her mom's Facebook post were focused on one thing: her dress.

"And I don't talk [expletive] about you on the internet/Never told anyone anything bad/'Cause that [expletive]'s embarrassing," Grace lip-synced along with Billie's extremely apt lyrics as she displayed the vile comments from Facebook.

People accused her of being an escort.

Imagine accusing an underage teenage girl of being a paid date. Imagine sexualizing a minor so much that you feel comfortable calling her an escort, or implying she's a prostitute. Could NOT be me.

Unlike Facebook, TikTok commenters had her back.

Everyone told Grace how beautiful she looked, and even pointed out that her dress was perfectly fine. Her dress was a perfectly fine length, and nothing was showing!

Score one point for TikTok.

Others said they didn't see an issue with the dress at all.

I also felt this way when I started watching the TikTok video! I was more focused on how genius it was to pair her black dress with a pair of red heels. She was serving Dorthy realness in those.

Oh, and don't worry — Grace let Rhonda have it.

Though she didn't owe anyone a reply, Grace explained that her dress was perfectly acceptable. Her dress was past her fingertips, tailored to her body, and she wore shorts underneath it.

I am once again asking for people to leave teenage girls alone.

Moral of the story? Don't mess with teenagers who were raised on the internet. You WILL get the beatdown of your life.

Oh, and as a society, we need to stop sexualizing teenagers. It's gross.
