A shocking piece of television news dropped this week when Blake Shelton , the last original judge of The Voice , will be leaving the show after its next season.
He’s been a beloved staple on the show since it aired over a decade ago, but he seems ready to move onto other things, including new projects and family matters. What sorts of projects? Let me tell you!
Blake Shelton recently announced that this would be his last season on ‘The Voice’.
He’s been on the show for the entirety of its 23 seasons, the last original judge from its initial airing in 2011. It’ll be an emotional season for sure, but fans can’t help but wonder what will be next for the country music star.
Well, we have an answer.
A source divulged to ET that “Blake will continue to focus on The Voice through the new season and also his new show, Barmageddon , music, his 2023 tour and — of course — his family and life on his farm.”
“He’s just focusing on other projects both personally and professionally.”
Shelton will continue working with fellow The Voice host Carson Daly on Barmageddon , a celebrity game show that will be airing on USA Network with Nikki Bella as its host.
The show will take place at Shelton’s Ole Red bar in Nashville and have celebrity guests partake in bar games, Daly serving drinks and Shelton performing on the bar’s stage.
After all, he’s always thought of himself as a country singer above all else.
As he told ET , “All I ever consider myself was a country singer. I love country music and that’s on my horizon — from a career standpoint — just keeping that thing going and having songs on the radio and being able to go out and tour and play. That’s what I do. I am a country singer.”
