It seems like all anyone can talk about these days is the new Top Gun film, Top Gun: Maverick , starring Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly, and Miles Teller. Personally, I have moved my obsession to the new Elvis movie starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks, but I digress.
Fans of the original film have been waiting a long time for this sequel, and by all accounts, it’s a massive success. In fact, it is Tom Cruise’s biggest success to date, earning a staggering $1 BILLION at the box office in its first month.
For the past month, it seemed like “Top Gun: Maverick” was the only movie anyone could talk about — especially when it came to Miles Teller and his singing abilities.

Rarely is a sequel ever praised as much as this follow-up film has been, and after making a whopping $100 million during its opening weekend, it’s clear fans couldn’t get enough.
Well now, the global box office stats are in, and it’s safe to say the total makes that $100 MILLION on opening weekend seem measly at best.
As reported by Variety, Top Gun: Maverick has earned a whopping $1 billion worldwide in its first month!
This success means the film has landed in the top 50 movies of all time in terms of box office performance.

As avid filmgoers may know, the top 5 films on the list each earned more than $2 billion. The highest earner, James Cameron’s 2009’s Avatar, made $2.8 billion.
This new information means “Top Gun: Maverick” is now Tom Cruise’s biggest release to date.
This knocks Tom’s next-highest global earner, $791.1 million for 2018’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout , to second place, as reported by People.
Tom took to social media to thank the millions of fans around the world who went out to support the film.
“To all the films in release, to all the studios, and to all the exhibitors: congratulations. To the audience: thank you for venturing out and allowing us to entertain you. See you at the movies,” he wrote on Monday.
