JD Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, has broken her silence on rumors that they’ve split, which started circulating after she appeared in public without her wedding band.
She was seen without it on Wednesday
Usha, who has been married to the United States Vice President since 2014 and shares three kids with him, was seen without her wedding ring on Wednesday, November 19.
She was visiting a military training facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina with First Lady Melania Trump.
This comes after a controversy with Vance
Usha’s bare hand sparked rumors that she and husband JD Vance have split. This comes especially after the controversial embrace Vance had with Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk.
Appearing at a recent Turning Point USA event, Vance shared an intimate moment with Erika.
She introduced him to the stage
The Vances were close friends with Charlie Kirk and have shown support to his wife Erika after his assassination in September. Usha was even seen on some occasions holding Erika’s hand.
At the event following Kirk’s death, Erika invited Vance to the event and compared him to her late husband.
Erika said they have ‘some similarities’
“No one will ever replace my husband. But I do see some similarities of my husband in JD — in Vice President JD Vance. I do. And that’s why I am so blessed to be able to introduce him tonight,” Erika said during the event.
They then shared an embrace
Erika then invited Vance to come on stage and they shared an embrace that many later deemed ‘inappropriate’ after Erika put her hand on the back of Vance’s head, with the moment going viral on social media platforms.
People online called it ‘weird’
Seeing the moment online, someone on Twitter wrote, “I have never wanted to touch any man’s hair during a hug other than my husbands. This is weird.”
Another person said, “Why would she touch the VP of the United States hair/head in an embrace?”
Usha is now seen without her ring
Now, JD Vance’s wife was seen without her wedding ring. She appeared in a long turtle-neck dress and earrings, but with her hands clear of rings.
This sparked speculation that her marriage to Vance was nearing its end.

Addressing the split rumors, a representative for Usha denied that this was the case.
They told People that she is ‘a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes’.
