Sharon Stone claimed she was allegedly ‘pressured’ by a producer to have sex with a co-star in order to make his ‘performance better’ and has now revealed who it was.
Stone is known for many roles
Sharon Stone, 67, became a known star in the ‘90s when she landed a role in Total Recall alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
She also gained international acclaim when she took on her role in 1992’s Basic Instinct, and even earned a Golden Globe for her performance in 1995’s Casino.
She has since released a memoir
The actress also released her memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice, back in 2021 where she wrote about her life in cinema.
In the book, she had shared a moment where she claims a producer pressured her to sleep with a co-star, but didn’t drop any names.
Stone shared what allegedly happened
“You guys insisted on this actor when he couldn’t get one whole scene out in the test,” Stone wrote in her book.
“Now you think if I f**k him, he will become a fine actor? Nobody’s that good in bed.”
She’s now shared more details about it
More recently, she spoke on Louis Theroux’s podcast and shared that the incident took place during the filming of 1993’s Silver, where she starred alongside Alex Baldwin’s brother, Billy Baldwin.
Stone said producers expected her to make another blockbuster, as this movie was coming out right after Basic Interest.
Stone understood the expectations
“They expected me to bring home another giant smash hit, and they gave me casting approval and they gave me all these approvals, but then when it came time for me to do it, they told me it was a vanity deal and I couldn’t have my approvals,” Stone told Theroux.
She started getting blamed
“Then they started to try to blame me for their mistakes, and they made terrible mistakes in the way that they hired directors and cast,” Stone recalled.
The actress then claims that she was called into the office of actor and producer Robert Evans, who died in 2019.
Stone recounted the situation
“He called me to his office,” Stone said of Evans. “He had these very low seventies and eighties couches, so I was essentially sitting on the floor when I should have been on set.”
She then revealed that Evans allegedly encouraged her to sleep with Baldwin in order to boost his performance and ‘save the movie’.
He told her why he wanted her to do it
“He’s running around his office in sunglasses, explaining to me that he slept with Ava Gardner and I should sleep with Billy Baldwin, because if I slept with Billy Baldwin, Billy Baldwin’s performance would get better,” Stone continued.
He thought it would improve chemistry
“And we needed Billy to get better in the movie because that was the problem,” Stone added of what she was told.
“And if I could sleep with Billy, then we’d have chemistry on screen, and if I would just have sex with him, then that would save the movie, and the real problem with the movie was me because I was so uptight, and so not like a real actress who could just f**k him and get things back on track.”
But this wasn’t something she’d had to do
Stone said, “I didn’t have to f**k Michael Douglas,” who starred alongside her in Basic Instinct.
“Michael could come to work and know how to hit those marks, and do that line, and rehearse and show up. Now, all of a sudden, I’m in the ‘I have to f**k people’ business.”
